Good day everyone,
I hope you are all having a good day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. In this post I will be looking at the news of Strategy buying another 705 Bitcoin.
Strategy Buy Another 705 Bitcoin
Michael Saylor’s Strategy now own a whopping 580,955 Bitcoin as the company purchased a further 705 Bitcoin for $75.1 million in the final week of May. The world’s largest corporate holder of Bitcoin revealed this latest addition happened after the price briefly dropped to $103,000 last month and their total holding is now worth about $40.7 billion at an average price of $70,023 per coin.
According to Strategy’s data, the latest purchase means their year-to-date Bitcoin yield, which indicates he percentage increase in the value of its Bitcoin holdings over a specific period of time, sits at 16.9%. The quarter-to-date Bitcoin yield is now 5.4%. The company is aiming for an overall yield target of 25% YTD by the end of 2025 after previously having a target of 15% yield but changed that on May 1.
Between May 26 and June 1, the company raised a total of $74.6 million from its ATM equity programs to raise funds for both operational and investment purposes. $36.2 million came from the sale of 353,511 STRK shares and $38.4 million from the sale of 374,968 STRF shares. These are the preferred stock instruments which were established earlier this year and carry attractive dividend yields of 8.00% and 10.00% respectively.
A series of Class A sales by Strategy director Jarrod Patten saw him sell 3,750 shares in the period between May 22 and 29. Strategy reported the proposed sale of securities filed on May 30 and these sales by Patten amounted to nearly $1.4 million.
There was downward pressure on the stock of Strategy, which trades under MSTR, as the sales saw it briefly fall below $360 on both May 28 and May 30. Strategy shares recovered to close last week at $369. Strategy analyst Jeff Walton noted that the company is capable of becoming the “number one publicly traded equity in the entire market” one day due to its massive stake in Bitcoin. So far Strategy own around 2.9% of all Bitcoin that has been mined so far.
It has been reported by K33 Research that Strategy appear to be easing their pace of purchasing Bitcoin. Capital raised from their program has slowed and K33 Head of Research Vetle Lunde attributes the deceleration to two key factors: a declining premium for MSTR shares relative to the firm’s Bitcoin holdings, and intensifying competition among corporations entering the Bitcoin treasury space.
