Good day everyone,
I hope you are all having a good day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. In this post I will be looking at the latest news regarding DJ Khaled and his involvement with Circle and Chelsea FC.
Circle, Chelsea FC, and DJ Khalid
On October 5, 2026, DJ Khalid appeared in a post on Circle’s official USDC account. In the post he was wearing a Chelsea jersey carrying the stablecoin’s brand. However, there is no official record of DJ Khaled being paid for this promotion, and it requires further scrutiny before jumping to conclusions.
Circle is Chelsea FC's official front-of-shirt sponsor, and DJ Khaled appeared in a promotional activation connected to Chelsea’s separate Roc Nation relationship. Basically what this means is that although he appeared wearing the Circle brand, there was no sponsorship, fee, or formal role for Khaled,. Therefore treating the exchange as an actual role within a Circle campaign would be far beyond what the posts actually shows.
Why does this matter? Due to the nature of the beast of course, and the history DJ Khaled has in crypto spaces.
2018 Scandal
Back in 2018 the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) announced a settlement with both professional boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and music producer DJ Khaled. The pair had been involved in promoting investments as part of ICO's, but had failed to disclose payments they had been given for doing so.
DJ Khaled had failed to disclose a $50,000 payment from Centra Tech, a brand which he touted on his social media accounts as a "Game changer." This resulted in Khaled agreeing to pay $50,000 in disgorgement, a $100,000 penalty, and $2,725 in prejudgment interest to settle the matter with the SEC following an April 2018 civil action against Centra Tech. DJ Khalid also agreed not to promote any any securities, digital or otherwise, for two years.
Community Backlash
Joseph Schiarizzi, a prominent X user, posted:
Please don't work with scammers like this. You really want people who have paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines to the SEC for illegally not disclosing payments they received for promoting ICOs representing your brand?
Crypto X never forgets, especially given how many of them were likely scammed as part of the old endorsement by DJ Khaled.
Crypto sleuth Wazz Crypto meanwhile suggested that Circle get Kim Kardashian onboard next, given 'she is an "outspoken advocate" of stablecoins that "lines up perfectly" with the brand.'
This is in reference to her $1.26 million penalties by the SEC for promoting the EthereumMax token on Instagram without disclosing a $250,000 payment. Crypto X really never forgets, but it seems like Circle were just following through on their sponsorship agreements with Chelsea.
Given that Khaled's two-year agreement not to take pay for promoting securities expired on November 29, 2020, he is free to be involved as much, or as little, as he likes. As for those who would want him endorsing their product, that is another matter altogether.
Have a great day.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
