CZ Believes "Owning Bitcoin Will Be The New American Dream"
The former CEO of Binance CZ has made a claim that owning Bitcoin will become the new American Dream, eclipsing homeownership, as the United States housing regulators move to recognise crypto in mortgage risk assessments. His prediction comes after a historic order from Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) Director Bill Pulte which will integrate digital assets into the U.S. housing finance system.
CZ posted on X on June 26 where the crypto entrepreneur was celebrating the news of the FHFA Director Bill. As part of the bill Pulte ordered both Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to consider ways to incorporate cryptocurrencies into mortgage risk assessments. Pulte issued these orders on Wednesday and it will see the two government sponsored enterprises prepare a proposal considering “cryptocurrency as an asset for reserves in their respective single-family mortgage loan risk assessments” without first being converted to U.S. dollars.
If this is approved then prospective homeowners will be capable of using cryptocurrencies stored on any U.S. regulated centralised exchange as part of their mortgage risk assessment without the crypto needing to be converted to US Dollars first. Pulse noted in a statement:
“Today is a historic day in the cryptocurrency industry and the mortgage industry, whereby Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are now positioned to involve Cryptocurrencies in Mortgages. Thank you President Trump for making the USA the crypto capital of the world!”
CZ made his post as Bitcoin is holding around the $107,000 point. A White House press conference on Friday by President Donald Trump saw the president claim that it “takes a lot of pressure off of the dollar” and is “a great thing for our country.”
