Good day everyone,
I hope you are all having a good day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. In this post I will be catching up on the breaking news of Cointelegraph seeking a buyer. The news comes from someone who is considered 'familiar with the matter.'
Cointelegraph numbers dwindling
Cointelegraph are famous for delivering news and information on crypto while using cartoon style imagery to depict the stories. Sadly the prolonged flat crypto prices has resulted in fewer users landing on their website. They are not alone of course, as many become disillusioned during unsavoury crypto cycles.
The biggest dropping point came when Google issued Cointelegraph a penalty back in October 2025. This followed a front-end exploit of their website back in June 2025, and it led to around an 80% drop in organic traffic. Back in December of 2024 they has 12 million monthly users reading their articles and making use of their features. In September 2026 that figure was only 700,000. Quite the drop off and quite the loss in traffic.
The company, which was created back in 2013, have not disclosed the figure they are expecting for a sale to take place. With over 200 employees the company has yet to verify these rumours, but we can be certain they are not the only outlet to suffer.
Google have been updating their search engines and implementing AI to a much higher extent, and many websites have suffered as a result. Several digital asset newsrooms are feeling the same adverse impact, but it is a common aspect of the peak and trough cycles of crypto.
With Cointelegraph covering aspects of blockchain technology, digital assets, artificial intelligence, nonfungible tokens and fintech, they are certain to have a resurgence once again.
The question now is who will be the owner when that eventually happens?
Have a great day.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
