Good day everyone,
I hope you are all having a good day, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things crypto. In this post I will be looking at the news of Bo Hines stepping down from his position within the White House Crypto Council.
Bo Hines Steps Down
It has been announced by the White House that Bo Hines, the executive director of President Donald Trump’s White House Crypto Council, will be departing from his role to return to the private sector. As of yet no official successor has been announced, but it is believed that deputy director Patrick Witt is the leading candidate.
It was back in December 2024 when Hines was confirmed as the executive director, but as part of his departure he expressed gratitude to the crypto community and crediting his collaboration with AI & Crypto Czar David Sacks for helping “position America as the crypto capital of the world.” The council have played a key role in shaping current crypto policy, which includes a report in July which outlined a regulatory action plan for digital assets.

The group have faced criticism for their shortcomings in terms of a strategic Bitcoin reserve as back in January President Trump signed an executive order establishing both a national crypto stockpile and a strategic Bitcoin reserve. The order made sure the government could not sell their existing Bitcoin holdings and requires “budget-neutral” methods to acquire more, meaning no additional public spending. This means that they can only secure new Bitcoin via asset seizures or other non-budgetary avenues.
Back in March Hines proposed a method for the US which would include revaluing their gold holdings. At the time the gold held by the United States government was valued at $42.22 per troy ounce, closer to the spot market price of around $3,400. Hines argued that a portion of the revaluation gains could be converted into Bitcoin, expanding the reserve without increasing public expenditure.
Have a great day.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
