Predictions

Now for the most exciting part, as I go through the latest info regarding each team to make an attempt at predicting the results for this weekends matches. Remember this is just my fun analysis and should not be taken as advice or a guarantee.

Burnley - Watford - Postponed

This fixture was originally scheduled to take place on Wednesday the 15th of December, and has been called off once again at the request of Burnley. Burnley only have ten first team players in training and because of that they requested another postponement of the game on Monday afternoon. The Premier League decided it was a fair request and will reschedule the game for further down the line, meaning Burnley remain with only seventeen of the twenty-two match days completed. They could face a serious fixture pile up later in the season at this rate, while Watford have only played nineteen of their twenty-two match days.

Brighton - Chelsea

This match is taking place earlier than originally planned due to Chelsea taking part in the FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi at the beginning of February. Chelsea lost to runaway league leaders Man City last weekend, while Brighton managed a draw with Crystal Palace. Potters sides are unbeaten in their last four league games, while Chelsea's title hopes have been dashed with Tuchels side only winning once in their previous six league encounters. The European Cup holders could actually drop down the table over the coming weeks if they find some sort of consistency in the league, with many teams below them having games in hand. The Seagulls will be without Mwepu and Sarmiento through injury, while Lallana is also a doubt. Bissouma is also away at AFCON to further reduce Potters options. Chelsea will be without Chilwell, James, and Chalobah through injury while Christensen is also out with a positive Covid-19 result. Mendy, who also recently tested positive for Covid-19, is still away at AFCON. This should be an interesting game, and I will go out on a limb for this one purely considering the fact Brighton got a draw at the Bridge, and say this game will end all square with a score of 2-2.

Leicester - Tottenham

The Foxes were supposed to host Spurs on Thursday the 16th of December but the game was postponed due to positive COvid-19 cases within the Leicester camp. Leicester have not played a league game since they beat Liverpool at home in December, and similarly both sides had postponed games at the weekend. The Foxes will be without Daniel Amartey, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and Nampalys Mendy who are all at the AFCON. Fofana, Pereira, Bertrand, Vardy, and Evans will all miss out due to injury, while Castagne and Soumare are both doubts for this tie. For Spurs, Son will definitely miss out through injury, while Dier, Romero, Bergwijn, and Reguilon are all doubts. Leicester are in good form having won their previous three matches at home in the league, while Spurs are unbeaten in their previous eight league fixtures. This should be a really exciting game, and even with so many players missing, I believe it will be a thrilling encounter. With home advantage, Leicester will hope to secure the points, but I find it difficult to look past Spurs. Both sides have been patchy at best this season but Spurs with their games in hand will really push for the points and try take advantage of Leicester's dreadful defending at set pieces. I can see a 1-3 victory for the away side here.

Brentford - Man Utd

This match between Brentford and Man Utd was originally meant to happen on Tuesday the 14th of December but a large Covid-19 outbreak in the United squad saw the game called off. The Bees have had an excellent season so far considering they were backed to get relegated at the beginning of the campaign. They currently sit fourteenth in the table and ten points clear of relegation. United have been so inconsistent this season, and come int this game off the back of a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa and five points off West Ham in fourth, albeit with two games in hand. The Red Devils have only won managed four victories from their ten away league matches this season, not loosing since Ole's final match which saw him get the sack. Brentford will be with Raya, Goode, Dasilva, and Jeanvier due to injury while Onyeka is at the AFCON. Man United will be without Pogba through injury, and Wan-Bissaka remains a doubt. Eric Bailly is also away at the AFCON. Unlike when Brentford faced Liverpool on the weekend at Anfield, I don't expect United to control the game in the same manner in which their Merseyside rivals did. The Bees will look to attack on their home soil and could be a real threat to this United side lacking in cohesion and confidence, as shown against Villa when they let a two goal lead slip. I can see Brentford doing similar to them here and getting a victory against Rangnick's outfit, taking the three points with a 2-1 victory.

Have a great week, I will have the review of the league matches and also the Carabao Cup Semi-Final up on Thursday evening so look out for that.

Peace. CryptoGod-1.
