I hope you are all well and excited the learn the fate of all 55 UEFA nations for the third instalment of the Nations League Draw, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things sports.
After the first tournament was won by Portugal, last summer saw France crowned champions. For this league, the first six matchdays of the group stages will be held during June and September in 2022. Four leagues will be created, containing Leagues A, B & C with each containing sixteen teams in groups of four. The bottom league, D, will see seven teams split into two groups.
The fixtures will be confirmed for the exact dates, but the matchdays are as follows:
Matchdays 1 & 2: 2-8 June 2022
Matchdays 3 & 4: 8-14 June 2022
Matchdays 5 & 6: 22-27 September 2022
Semi-finals: 14 & 15 June 2023
Final & third-place match: 18 June 2023
Play-outs for Euro 2024: 21-23 & 24-26 March 2024
The beauty of the nations league is that is brings relegation and promotion onto the international scene, while also acting as a back door route for certain teams to book at spot at Euro 2024. This competition also helps to create more fair fixtures and removing the need for friendlies throughout the football calendar. An interesting fact is that the 20/21 edition is still awaiting the relegation playoffs to be played, with Moldova facing Kazakhstan and Cyprus facing off against Estonia in March 2022. These teams will be playing for spots in Leagues C & D, with the winners taking their places in League C while the losers will play in League D.
