Premier League Fixture
There was one Premier League fixture which took place over the weekend, which saw Burnley host Watford on Saturday the 5th of February at 6pm UK time. This game was previous postponed due to Covid-19 outbreaks and injuries within the Burnley squad.
Result: Burnley 0-0 Watford
After the last two scheduled meetings of these sides were postponed due to Covid-19, the relegation threatened sides finally got to battle it out. Roy Hodgson managed to oversee a point for his side and a clean sheet at a wet and windy Turf Moor. This was Watford's first clean sheet in thirty games since their 3-0 win against Liverpool in February 2020 during the Reds awful defensive injury crises. Both sides had chances and a slice of fortune on their sides to get a point apiece. Burnley's new signing Wout Weghorst linked up well with Cornet to create a good chance in the first half, while Josh King wasted a good Watford chance. The Hornets best opening came from a corner which was saved on the line by the knee of Aaron Lennon. Burnley had the best chance in the second half with Cornet's striking an effort which forced a diving save from Foster. Westwood picked up the loose ball, playing it through the six-yard box for Jay Rodriguez but the striker was unable to fire it home. A share of the spoils and another missed chance for both teams to try pull themselves out of the relegation dog fight.
I hope you enjoyed the read and got to see some of the matches, we have the Premier League resuming this midweek after the midseason break.
Have a wonderful day.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
