Predictions

Now for the most exciting part, as I go through the latest info regarding each team to make an attempt at predicting the results for this weeks matches. Remember this is just my fun analysis and should not be taken as advice or a guarantee.

Brentford - Man Utd

This will be another tough test for interim manager Rangnick, and if his team performs like they did at Norwich I think Brentford will have a field day. The 4-2-2-2 tactic is unusual for the Premier League and questions will persist over the ability of Fernandes and Sancho to provide adequate cover on opposition full backs. The news of a small number of COVID-19 cases emerging at United will not help matters as the manager tries to create a settled team. The potential of the game being cancelled is very realistic. Brentford will be delighted after their last minute winner on the weekend, and I expect them to really push United if the game goes ahead, with Toney back to lead the line. If Rangnick can get some passion and guile from his team they should win, but I think he will suffer his first loss as United manager and Brentford will take the points with a 2-1 victory. When I wrote this it was before the game was officially postponed.

Norwich - Aston Villa

Steven Gerrard will be looking to get his team back to winning ways, while Dean Smith will be facing his old team in this encounter. Gerrard has turned Villa into a very structured team which is difficult to break down and strong on the break. They should have too much about them for Norwich, even though The Canaries outplayed and outclassed a very pityfull United team on the weekend. Norwich have big struggles up front and are in need of a player who can convert their chances. Pukki has talent but too much burden on his shoulders. Unfortunately I think they will suffer another loss, and I can see Villa winning this game away from home with a result of 0-2.

Man City - Leeds

The champions struggled at times against Wolves over the weekend but the sign of champions is getting a win. Leeds have a great account of themselves against Chelsea and with Bamford getting sharper they could cause an upset yet. The Citizens will believe they have enough about them with their strength in depth to get the win, and I will back them to win this with a score line of 3-1.

Brighton - Wolves

Two teams face off here who are not known for high scoring games. Wolves have played the top two teams in the country in their previous fixtures so they will be happy to face a similar levelled team in this round of matches. Brighton are famous for getting draws in their games, and generally they are low scoring ones. They are great for possession and controlling a game, but lack the ability to finish a team off. This game has draw written all over it, and most likely be a 0-0 draw.

Burnley - Watford

Both of these sides are currently too close to the relegation spots for comfort, with Burnley two points off safety. Neither are exactly lighting up the league, and Burnley will look to be tight at the back. Watford have fast attackers and know how to score, and because of this I believe they might just edge Burnley in this one. I will go for a 0-2 win for the away side.

Crystal Palace - Southampton

Palace will look to control this game from the off, with their style and Southampton’s being very similar. Southampton struggle up front and will hope to add more points to the board soon, although they are currently comfortable enough in the standings. Palace have an almighty attack on their day, and any can cause damage. I think Palace will have enough about them and I’m back them to get a narrow win at home, with a score of 2-1.

Arsenal - West Ham

This fixture will really test the resolve and credentials of West Ham when challenging for top 4. Arsenal are on a good run of form and Arteta has them clicking even without their captain. Both these sides have had mixed recent results, and Arsenal will have there is not a repeat of their game against Everton. The Hammers are good at frustrating their opposition teams, and will be quick to try catch them on the break. Arsenal are solid at the back and I expect Ramsdale to need to be on top form to get them a home win. A draw is the most likely result with both teams solid at the back and strong on the break. I think this game will end up as a 2-2 draw.

Leicester - Tottenham

Assuminh there is no postponement due to the Covid-19 issues at Tottenham, we should hopefully see an exciting match here. If there is then Spurs will have a hectic 3 league matches to schedule sometime in the new year. The Spurs players are back in training which is a good sign ahead of the match. With Leicester scoring for fun in the weekend they will hope to continue their luck at the King Power during the week. The advantage of Tottenham players only back in training from Monday will give the Foxes a fitness advantage, although Spurs players will be well rested. A tough game to call, which could go either way, I feel Leicester will have the advantage and should win this game 2-1 in a fierce battle for the top four places.

Chelsea - Everton

Chelsea escaped a disappointing result over the weekend against Leeds, scoring a late penalty to steal the win. That will give them a confidence boost, and keep them in the race with Man City and Liverpool. Their defence has been leaky over the past few weeks and because of this I can’t see them keeping a clean sheet. Everton meanwhile are having a torrid time, but as they shower against Arsenal, they can turn up against the big teams when needed. It’s an interesting encounter and with Palace playing Everton off the field things look dour for Rafa Benitez and his side. I will stick my neck out there and say Everton will pull off another shock result, getting themselves a 1-2 victory at the Bridge.

Liverpool - Newcastle

I don’t anybody doubts how this game will go. Liverpool and Salah will be licking their lips at welcoming Newcastle to Anfield. How many will they score is the only question. After two 1-0 victories in the league I think the Reds will have a goal feast here. The Newcastle team are in an awful way and they can’t get a win for anything. One win after sixteen rounds is not good enough for a team who are planning on challenging domestically and in Europe down the line. I think the front line for Liverpool, who are scoring for fun and will expect Firmino back available, should have a field day. I have backed Liverpool for big results of late and the same again, with a score of 5-0 at Anfield.

Have a great day and enjoy the midweek games, which should see some very exciting matches.

Peace. CryptoGod-1.
