Good day everyone,
I hope you are all well and having a great first week of 2022, welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things sports. Today we will be looking at the recent game in the Carabao Cup Semi-Final first leg. The matches took place on Wednesday, with the other Semi-Final postponed due to Covid-19.

This game certainly was a game to forget for Conte on his first return to Stamford Bridge. Spurs were not at the races in the first half, and while they improved during the second, it wasn't enough. To summarise Spurs in this match would be as simple as their best chance came from a Kane free-kick, highlighting the fact they couldn't test Kepa in the Chelsea goal from open play until the 88th minute. Chelsea dominated the first half, although Tanganga of Spurs was largely responsible for both goals conceded. The first was a poor pass which allowed Alonso to latch onto the ball and play it into Havertz to score. The second saw Tanganga head a Ziyech free-kick off his team mate Davies and it went straight into the net. Chelsea continued their dominance in the second half and Werner could have extended the lead only to see his lob held by Lloris. Conte could do little and removed Moura and Son towards the end, accepting this game was beyond them. Both sides will be in FA Cup third round action before the second leg next week.
Thursday 6th Jan 2022
Result: Arsenal - Liverpool - Postponed
This game was unfortunately postponed due to a massive Covid-19 outbreak in the Liverpool camp. They had to shut down their training facilities, with a reported up to 14 cases amongst the squad. Added to that is the fact both Manager Jurgen Klopp and Assistant Manager Pepijn Lijners contracted the virus and neither would be available to take charge of the match. Reports vary, but some have said all of Liverpool's goalkeepers were side-lined and therefore they would not have anybody to play in the game. As a result, what should have been the second leg at Anfield next week on the 13th of January, which will now be considered the first leg of the tie. Arsenal will now have the home advantage in the second leg, which will instead be played on the 20th of January.
I hope you found some enjoyment in my post and managed to see the match. We have the FA Cup third round matches this weekend, and return for the Tottenham - Chelsea second leg, and Liverpool - Arsenal first leg of the Semi-Finals next week. Fingers crossed there will be no more Covid-19 postponements to delay these matches.
Have a great day.
Peace. CryptoGod-1.
