Welcome to CryptoGod-1's blog on all things gaming. Today we are going to look at the upcoming release of one of my all-time favorite games, Football Manager.
What is Football Manager 22
Football manager is a game as old as time at this stage in my opinion. As I mentioned I have quite a biased view seeing as I've been playing them since the original championship manager days. For myself I fully believe Football Manager to be one of the best games ever created, taking the simplicity of a spreadsheet and creating a world-renowned game from it. Taking the place of a manager, players get to be involved in almost all aspects of managing a real football club. Whether it's scouring the globe for the next best wonderkid or rebuilding a fallen giant back to its former glory, football manager allows fans to live an in-depth experience of the game.
What can you play it on?
The latest edition is available on my personal favorite method of PC, while also returning to both mobile, Nintendo, and Xbox. No PlayStation version exists as of yet but there is plenty of opportunity for expansion onto that platform in the future editions. The exact time of release is currently the 9th of November although exact times may vary depending on which platform you choose to game on.
Beta Access
As always, when Football Manager is due for release, two weeks prior to the release date (November 9th, 2021) a Beta version is available to all who bought pre-release. This two-week period allows Beta users exclusive access to the game, where their play helps to resolve any underlying issues or bugs prior to mainstream release. This should be accessible around the 26th of October, although the official Beta access may vary in different regions and on the various platforms.
What's expected in this edition?
As shown in the preview trailer, it seems to connect with the achievements and accolades of a club that are becoming a new metric, presumably allowing the potential to grow fan bases. While details are not yet known, dreamers can think of applications such as stadium expansion, scouting, summer tours to attract new fans. New highest league positions and historic moments are a big thing from their prominence in the trailer. Earn it for the fans being the slogan thrown about for the latest edition.
Women's football leagues are expected to be added to the game, but not in this version. Talks are ongoing with the different leagues and organizations over getting the correct format, data, and the best ways to promote the women's game.
Little is confirmed regarding the exact changes to the game mechanics, although certain improvements are expected in terms of match engine and tactics in-game which were somewhat unbalanced with counter-attacks in the previous edition being particularly powerful. As always minor tweaks to a working product are the best way to progress an already stellar title. The generic screen below for the series has been strong in its layout, although my preference is always to utilize a skin with maximizes my screen space with as much info as possible, just so I can feel like a real manager.
Where to buy it?
The ever-reliable Steam is the go-to for buying Football Manager on PC. Xbox fans will be able to access with game pass from the off. There is generally a 10% off discount for purchasing before release, but it can vary depending on where you go. Currently, where I'm based, Europe, CD-Keys are offering a very reasonable price but if you shop around I'm certain you can find the best deals available.
