LeoDex and sLEO: My Earning After a Week

Starting from September 23, the rewards (affiliate fees) generated by LeoDex are being distributed to those who hold LEO in staking on Arbitrum, meaning those who have the sLEO token in their wallet.

This means that every swap made through LeoDex, as long as it’s enough big, is subject to a small fee which, instead of going solely to the platform, is shared among all those who hold the sLEO token.

The platform itself, through a system called POL (Protocol Owned LEO), benefits from these fees and automatically uses them to purchase more LEO, thereby continually strengthening its position and increasing its impact on the market.

I also hold a position in sLEO: with about 5017 sLEO I’m currently ranked 32nd among the Top Stakers and therefore participate in the distribution of rewards in USDC.

As I write this post, it’s been exactly 7 days since I started receiving these rewards, so I can make a first estimate of their amount.

By going to the dedicated page, I can easily see what I’ve earned so far:

In total, during this first week I accumulated 0.33 USDC.

Considering the value of my portfolio ($662), this small amount corresponds to an APR of 2.59%.

A rather modest figure and not exactly exciting... but there are some important factors to take into account:

1. Over the last 3 months, the LEO token has significantly increased in value, so much so that my portfolio went from $60/70 to $660: this APR therefore adds to the x10 my investment already achieved and, if compared to its original value, would be equal to a 25.9%;
2. LeoDex is a platform in constant growth, with new features (perps) and protocols (Tron) being continuously added: so I see this situation as a starting point, not an endpoint;
3. Since fees depend on the trading volume on LeoDex, earnings can vary greatly from one day to another, so the APR I got in this first week may not be representative of what I’ll get over the course of an entire year (which could be higher or lower).

Future

Of course, this doesn’t mean that this start has been particularly exciting in terms of rewards earned.

My hope is definitely to see LeoDex grow and, with it, both my returns and the value of LEO.

In the meantime, while waiting to see if this will happen or not, I don’t intend to do anything special, apart from maybe redeeming those 33 cents and using them to buy a couple of LEO.

On the other hand, I’ve already made a nice profit thanks to some arbitrages, so I feel calm and prefer to just watch how the situation evolves: if LeoDex continues on the path it has followed so far, I believe the future could still hold some pleasant surprises... who knows!

LeoDex e sLEO: I Miei Guadagni Dopo una Settimana

Dal 23 Settembre le ricompense (affiliate fees) generate da LeoDex stanno venendo distribuite a coloro che detengono LEO in staking su Arbitrum, ossia che hanno nel proprio portafoglio il token sLEO.

Questo significa che ogni swap effettuato tramite LeoDex, purchè di importo sufficientemente elevato, è soggetto ad una piccola commissione che, invece che andare a beneficio della sola piattaforma, arricchisce invece tutti coloro che detengono il token sLEO.

La stessa piattaforma, tramite un sistema denominato POL (Protocol Owned LEO), beneficia di queste commissioni e le utilizza in modo automatico per acquistare altri LEO, così da accrescere sempre più la propria posizione ed aumentare il proprio impatto sul mercato.

Anche io detengo una posizione in sLEO: con circa 5017 sLEO mi trovo nella 32esima posizione tra i Top Stakers e partecipo quindi alla distribuzione delle ricompense in USDC.

Nel momento in cui scrivo questo post sono passati esattamente 7 giorni da quando ho iniziato a ricevere queste ricompense e posso quindi fare una prima stima del loro ammontare.

Andando nell'apposita pagina posso facilmente vedere cosa ho ottenuto fino a questo momento:

In totale durante questa prima settimana ho accumulato 0.33 USDC.

Considerando il valore del mio portafoglio (662$), questa piccola somma corrisponde ad un APR del 2.59%.

Un valore abbastanza contenuto e non proprio entusiasmante... ma ci sono alcuni fattori importanti da considerare:

1. il token LEO negli ultimi 3 mesi ha visto aumentare notevolmente il proprio valore, tanto che il mio portafoglio è passato da 60/70 dollari a 660 dollari: questo APR quindi si aggiunge al x10 che ha fatto il mio investimento e, se lo rapportassi al suo valore originario, sarebbe pari al 25.9%;
2. LeoDex è una piattaforma in costante crescita, con nuove funzioni (perps) e protocolli (Tron) che vengono costantemente aggiunti: vedo perciò questa situazione come un punto di partenza, e non un punto di arrivo;
3. dato che le commissioni dipendono dal volume di scambi che avvengono su LeoDex, i guadagni possono variare molto da un giorno all'altro, per cui l'APR che ho realizzato in questa prima settimana potrebbe non essere rappresentativo di quello che otterrò nel corso di un anno intero (che potrebbe essere di più o di meno).

Futuro

Tutto ciò ovviamente non significa che questo inizio sia stato entusiasmante, da un punto di vista delle ricompense ottenute.

La mia speranza è sicuramente quella di vedere LeoDex crescere e, con esso, i miei ritorni ed il valore di LEO.

Nel mentre che attendo di vedere se questo accadrà o meno, non ho intenzione di fare niente di particolare, a parte forse riscattare quei 33 centesimi ed utilizzarli per comprare un paio di LEO.

D'altra parte ho già realizzato un buon profitto grazie ad alcuni arbitraggi, per cui mi sento tranquillo e preferisco stare a vedere come si evolve la situazione: se LeoDex continuerà sulla strada che ha percorso finora credo infatti che il futuro potrebbe riservare ancora qualche bella soddisfazione... chissà!
