My Kucoin Candy Roulette

By Jelly Fish | cryptofun | 5 Nov 2020

Recently Kucoin exchange decided to celebrate Halloween or something and to reward their valuable customers with Bennigans coupons. Well, not with those coupons exactly, but with something more or less valuable the users could spend their hard-earned Kucoin Candies on.

Kucoin Candies is a kind of promotional points you can receive for daily check-ins (pretty much the same shit as Coingecko Candies and many others), at most 50x6+100 = 400 candies weekly.

For quite a long time those Candies were of no actual use, and I managed to collect some 5000+ of them. But recently Kucoin guys have rolled out something they call a Wheel of Fortune (image).

The Wheel has 12 entries, 11 wins plus 1 "zero". If my probability math is correct, it means, that each entry has a 1/12 or 8.3% probability. In other words, you have an 8.3% probability to totally lose a spin and a 9% probability (1/11) to win any of the rewards.

A spin costs 1000 candies, so with my 5000 candies, I could spin 5 times. So I did -- and got rather wonderful results (image):

Out of 5 spins, I've got 4 futures trading fee vouchers and 1 margin trading fee voucher!

Well, something is definitely wrong with my probability math. Or I'm simply too lucky. Or the Wheel has a small fineprint somewhere. Or something else, I don't know.

I would love to try Kucoin's futures trading and to cover 30% of my trading fees with the aforementioned vouchers -- but I'm afraid I'm still too dumb to trade anything at Kucoin.

Well, we uh, we didn't get everything that we wanted, but... we negotiated hard and... we got these... coupons to Bennigan's! And... free bubblegum... for every Canadian. These coupons entitle every Canadian to a free meal at Bennigan's. With the purchase of a meal at equal or greater value, of course.
