Recently I made a couple of posts about a browser-based blockchain-backed game Prospectors, which I learned about here on Publish0x. Now I'd like to make a small update on the process.
First -- I bought a time certificate! That means my Mr.Good, Mr.Bad, and Mr.Ugly can now work for straight 5 hours. This eases my babysitting greatly. Besides, now they can mine gold like a man!
Second -- mining gold on free spots is unprofitable... Free spots usually contain about 3.9M of gold, and if you read the rules and make the calculations the profit will be 3.9M / 1M = 3.9 gold per minute. You can make more doing paid jobs or for example, cutting wood at the speed of 1 kg/min and selling it for 7-8 gold/kg. Of course, if a spot has, say, a 20M gold reserve, the profit from mining will be 20 gold/min, but so far I haven't seen free spots with so much free gold.
So, for the moment I will probably buy yet another cart or wagon and continue woodcutting as long as I accumulate enough gold to rent a gold spot if I find any with a good reserve.
BTW, plot rental fees, as well as the price of time-certificate, are slowly going down. When I joined the game the certificate was about 80K gold, now it's around 50K. I don't know why it happens if it will go on sooner or later everyone will be able to get the certificate for free right from the start.
