Google issued an emergency security update while admitting there is a security issue.

The security breach could affect billions of users, while the scope is not mentioned in their blog it definitely is a major concern as google does not admit these things lightly. 

As You must have already figured it out, to save Your data You should update google chrome ASAP. Make sure it is updated to Version 99.0.4844.84 after updating it restart the browser to make sure the update takes effect immediately.  To update You need to click on three dots in top right corner of google chrome and click help - about google chrome. As of now they are restricting Access to bug details and links may be kept restricted until a majority of users are updated with a fix. We will also retain restrictions if the bug exists in a third party library that other projects similarly depend on, but haven’t yet fixed.
