Venezuela is the country of cryptocurrencies, Maduro confirms that the thirteenth will be paid in Petro

The community has become accustomed for a long time to follow closely what happens in Venezuela, the country has in fact become a sort of international laboratory as far as the world of the crypts is concerned, not only are we talking about the first state in the world to issue its own crypt of state, the Petro (linked to the oil production of the country), today has also become the first in which the public administration pays using an encrypted currency. The news, confirmed via twitter by President Maduro's account yesterday, aroused great interest throughout the community, that the thirteenth will be paid in Petro; it is the first time in the world that something like this happens so the news is truly epochal.

Launched on the market in February last year, the Petro immediately attracted the distrust of the community, after all it could not be otherwise since it is a currency controlled by a government; it must be said that, at the time, still almost no one had ever heard of CBDC, it was the first case in the world of a cryptocurrency that aspired to replace the normal fiat currency to which we are all used, so, despite the initial enthusiasm, Petro's presale had little success. Both Iran and Russia refused to treat the purchase of Venezuelan crude by using Petro as a reference currency and the experiment at one point seemed almost destined to fail; it must therefore be recognized that the country's government has strongly believed in this instrument, continuing to support it. That the Petro was not a currency destined to disappear soon became clear when the first bank in the country declared that it would integrate the accounts of the current account holders with a wallet that would allow them to keep even the new currency, now the news that the thirteenth will be paid in Petro it shows even more that Venezuela is really going through a transitional phase that will lead to the gradual abandonment of the bolivar (the official Venezuelan fiat currency) and the mass adoption of Petro as the only currency in the country.
