As always, when a year ends, it is time to sum up the past 12 months and this is even more true than usual when we talk about investments; It is therefore not surprising that in the last three or four days the articles that are taking stock of what the various investments have made over the past year are multiplying online.
What is surprising, however, is the fact that the mainstream media, which for some months have been performing in standing ovation in favor of the stock market, which has gone rather well this year, have forgotten to consider bitcoin in their evaluations; if, in fact, the stock market has gone strong, its performance is not in the least comparable to that recorded by bitcoin and this despite the fact that, after the June highs, BTC prices have now lost just over half of their value.
Bitcoin, in fact, is undoubtedly the best performing asset of the year, if the S&P 500 ended the year with a significant increase of 29.09% and NASDAQ did even better with a more 38.25%, bitcoin, as an investment , outperformed both by placing a stratospheric plus 94.1%; also observing the BTC commodities market it confirms the best investment of the year, oil, for example, stopped at more than 33.97%, gold did not go beyond a paltry , so to speak, plus 18.30%, exceeding the yield of silver (plus 15.21%) but not that of platinum (plus 21.33%).
In terms of technical analysis, then, it is true that the stock market will probably have a very positive start to the year, unlike bitcoin which will probably suffer bear pressure until halving next spring, but after the first quarter of 2020 many analysts highlight that we will witness a stock market crash while, on the contrary, bitcoin should return to a long-term bullish cycle that should last from 18 to 24 months.
The next two years, therefore, could coincide with the beginning of a new, profound, global economic crisis which will be counterbalanced by a domineering growth by bitcoin which, as is known, tends to behave now as a sort of safe haven asset. Far from ending at zero and from failing, therefore, our beloved cryptocurrency could give us stratospheric profits in the immediate future, so it is appropriate to keep ready to take advantage of the situation by buying BTC with low hands when it will show the first signs of inversion.
