Kelly Loeffler, former CEO of the Bakkt bitcoin futures platform, was sworn in to the United States Senate; it was Kelly Lowffler herself, called to replace the senate of the republic Johnny Isakson (who left her post due to health problems), to communicate it with a tweet on the day of last January 6 (Monday).
In the first two days, Loeffler, who will serve as senator from here to the next elections in the autumn, also said she had already cast her first vote to support President Trump's choice to lead the Small Business Administration, a US autonomous government agency designed to assist small businesses in the country; moreover, it was unthinkable that the new senator presented herself in a different way, already on her first vote, considering that circles close to the presidency had opposed her appointment considering her too moderate and inexperienced.
Senator Loeffler had, however, presented herself as a hard and pure Trumpian, saying she wanted to defend the second amendment strenuously (the one that allows Americans to possess weapons), to be in favor of the wall, a staunch supporter of the military and President Trump's line; honestly, even though old Donald is likely to end up being re-elected for a second term, the former bakkt CEO was downright unfortunate with the timing, since of all the first presidential term this is almost certainly the time in which Trump's prices are lowest ever.
If to date the country's good economic results have contributed to keeping Trump's popularity rate high, after the attack with drones a few days ago, which cost the life of the Iranian general Soleimani, it seems that the situation is destined to change; while on the one hand it is certainly true that with this move the president diverts attention from the tensions related to impeachment, it is also true that Trump had presented himself at the beginning of the mandate claiming to be in favor of a withdrawal of American troops in the Middle East, a withdrawal that, after what happened in the last week, now appears increasingly unlikely.
Kelly Lowffler who, after launching bitcoin futures through bakkt, had gained the sympathy of a large part of the community, therefore risks paying the unconditional support offered to Trump, also because the community, while also presenting guidelines within it very different from each other, it can be defined in any way except warmongering; this will certainly not affect bakkt, who in the meantime has given himself a new CEO, but it could make it very unlikely that Lowffler would return to the company when, as will happen very soon, his mandate in the senate will end.
