Web3 Monetization under Meta with Creator Marketplace

Web3 Monetization under Meta with Creator Marketplace

By Novasky | DevPress | 20 Feb 2024

Let's face it. Facebook and Instagram purposefully underpays the creators so that they can have larger cut. People make more money out of the YouTube and Tiktok than they ever will on Facebook. A lot of content gets wasted and no income is earned on Facebook. And that is not changing at all. Instead Facebook wants to twist the words and only want to cash in on the brand deals for the monetization.

Say you are an influencer girl or cook chef woman doing the creator impact on their Meta properties. And you want to get new brand deals. Now Facebook wants the cut out of that so they created the marketplace for this. They would create their own marketplace and allow the deals with brands directly and take a cut in the middle.

Creator Marketplace

As you can see the zuckerberg said this 2 years back. But you would not find the creators being wealthy out of Facebook work. Most of them barely getting anything strong out of in terms of the deals and also the subscriptions. However there are NFTs and the subscription to channels and also there is going to be strong changes in the private groups for the pages and brands to monetize too. And in near future groups which are public can be made on monetization only too.

But all of this is just word salad. Web3 in the land of Meta and Facebook is less profitable for creators. They want to make the reels income expand even further and then that would build upon the rest of the creator experience. It is good for income but takes a bit of time and effort to build on income. So you have to play that numbers game too.

Performance Based Payouts

Now facebook don't want to pay you more. So they are just paying when you benefit their platform. So they have created this performance based payouts. And this would mean less money for you and more for them. And this way small publishers would earn less and things would just go slow for the creators who want to do this for money.

For web3 you have the monetization with groups, reels, video channels and also the tips using stars remains. Now the added bonus of the NFTs and also the amount of the changes with the creator marketplace for the deals. That is also possible. So let's see where the creator support and the tools go. But for most genuine creators they are better off on the YouTube and Tiktok if they want to make serious money.
