I remember in 2021 I got an email saying if I don't complete the KYC I'd lose my uphold account. Then they sent me a link for KYC which took the process to the company which does the KYC through their own methods. Now they asked me to send me legal documents for verification and also took me selfie. Funny thing about selfie, me being An Asian brown, their system failed to detect me. Their system also failed to verify my national identity.
I wonder if that was KYC or some form of the data mining process. I mean if other sites can accept the same KYC and it gets detected what is going wrong with yours? It seems like their process was more leaned towards Caucasian and also the people from US, UK and Australia getting the preference so they kind of felt zero need for the verification of the people in Asia it seems. So I didn't bothered further.
Few days back I got this email from the Uphold. Now they want me back.

It seems like a lot of people failed KYC test like me. And they seem to have quit the Uphold. So the lack of funds are kind of burning the uphold from this point onwards it seems. Let's see if there is any point at all with getting uphold account anymore. I personally don't see much use of the account considering I quit the Brave browser rewards. I also don't use any of their wallet services.
What does this all drama means? Uphold needs new funds to keep it's service moving. They want new people keeping crypto in their centralized wallet. They would also be restricting you like paypal if they want in near future. So it's not like a serious wallet resource anymore. Even shady binance is often better than centralized data hungry wallet like Uphold.
So do you see any need for using the Uphold wallet? What's your opinion? Do you think I should reactivate this account or I am better off them?
