Esports world is fragmented. Some games are specific to the brands and remain on their respective network. Some of the games and the brands are under specific publishing platforms and often they do the resource handshake. In case of the blockchain games, a lot of games need to do something similar. And in that context, there is a company called Ultra comes into the picture.
Ultra is basically a network of blockchain that would be deploying the SDK that allows gamers to use one common framework for the game economy sharing. This would help during the esports, marketplace and the resource sharing.
Now the company is slowly making the progress in that vision.
You may ask which blockchain they are using? So they have their own chain and the block producers. If you check the Ultra explorer, it has it's own block producers and the validators.
Remember few months back I reviewed the game - Mummy.io. That game has now partnered with the Ultra for the common platform for such game to be deployed on their chain. It's like STEAM like platform but is meant for the blockchain games who want to sell, share and work with common platform.
If you are a game developer and want to know about some of the details of the platform, there is this video that covers it.
Yesterday I posted about the Dark Country, that game too is now going to be deployed on this platform so soon they would be getting new home outside the Itch.
How does this affects gamers?
Unless you are worried about playing in too many places and prefer a singular point of contact for the games and the projects. You should be making use of the Ultra arena for your multiplayer games in the blockchain. Other than that for those single shot blockchain games or those in the web based games we don't need to think a lot of such platforms either.
