Terra Name Service to Offer Domain Service like Ethereum Name Service

Ethereum name service was one of the successful launch last year. And it seems like a lot of blockchains like this idea. And there is one anonymous project that started the similar undertaking but for the Terra blockchain. So now the services similar to the ENS would be possible with the Terra blockchain.

There was already the airdrop for those who were holding the Terra in their wallet. And so they would be getting the tokens which would allow them to use it for their Terra Name Service. And in near future your wallet for the terra would be able to make use of the Domains just like how Ethereum Name Service allowed you to do just that.

Is it official?

From what we have seen so far on twitter, the TNS is not an official Terraform labs product nor a project backed by them. So you are on your own while trusting this new name service. You may not be duped from what we have heard and noticed with ENS, but you never know considering unless some people take the risk and establish the proof of concepts reviews, we are still under dark on whether this works or not.

Is Terra any good? is it worth holding or using for name-service or domains?

Interesting question to ponder isn't it. From what we have seen so far last year 2021. We have noticed Terra to have low fees, also the market demand for it's USTerra stablecoin. So it seems like this would be slowly getting the attention that it deserves. Apart from the Polkadot and Thorchain which were supposed to replace or atleast compete with ethereum and last year that just simply didn't worked out.

However it seems like slowly the people are switching to other chains than the ethereum. This would also help innovate as people wont be spending their precious money on chains that literally burn their money. That's not all. Terra is connecting with Cosmos blockchain soon, so that's more potential for them to grow and move ahead of Ethereum.

Meanwhile Terra Name Service is an interesting project. And you can check it out for the domain name pointing to your terra wallet. Like ENS, it too has the potential.
