Mastercard and Visa is not out of the world right now that we have crypto. They continued to use blockchain and traditional methods to continue to work on the variety of the payment methods. And they are making the tokens and the blockchain accessible for the users that would help them build on the chain. Like Visa has been accepting variety of blockchain solutions. So does the Mastercard too. 

Mastercard recently started the crypto partner program. And they are welcoming variety of blockchain, projects, protocols are working out for the expansion of their brand and the infrastructure. 

As per the news they are having around 85 companies already enrolled on their programs. Payment processing and being a provider is what they excel at and they want to continue to expand on that offer. And that would help them with the build of any type to work with good blockchain based infrastructure too.
