Solana created a concept called SPL token. These tokens were meant to replace a lot of in chain sub tokens which were meant to build upon. Now that the world has moved more towards the programmable tokens and the blockchain, the SPL tokens were meant to change too. So they are now launching the program called P-token. 

This token is meant to change the optimization of the SPL token. This would reduce the query cost, compute cost and the performance would improve as well. 

As Solana continues to scale the backend of the P-token is going to make the most difference. Some of the time it makes sense to build with the scalable solutions. And more of such would happen with the developer integration with the P-token in most of the building in the apps. 

Let's see where the new changes with the P-token on the Solana ecosystem.
