Polkadot has a lot of things to fix and there are some of the projects who plan on making those fixes. So apart from the smart contract that were fixed by the Acala network. Now the on chain privacy solution from the external projects like Manta network is another milestone for the Polkadot. 

Manta network tweeted about their funding rounds which were meant for the on chain privacy solutions on the Polkadot. It seems like the funding has help them speed up the security implementations now. 

The 5.5 M fund is going to be helping the Manta Network for setting up the various other implementations which are focused for their growth. 

This improvement would definitely be useful for the dApps and the smart contracts. So there will be more external project involvement and the demand for the parachain slots from this point as the security aspect has been taken care of. It is speculation that there will be IDOs who could benefit from this solution too.
