Lana Rhoades Scam - NFT Going Prawn

By Novasky | DevPress | 22 Jul 2022

NFT tech is yet to mature. Even worst is the offering being matured. There are lot of genuine use case of the NFTs. But we have yet to find some of the reasonable and logical value of the NFTs and turning out without being a scam. Many poor artworks like Ape and all that are nothing but manipulation of the consumer sentiments. And I am not surprised that we see the NFT specific scams out there in the market.

Recently Pornstar Lana Rhoades released one of her NFT project. And now we get the news that she ran away from the project. So we are going to take a look at that case.

Genesis of the Cryptosis

Lana rhoades and the developers who wanted to create her NFT teamed up. And they created this project called Cryptosis. Where you can find the NFTs of the Lana. A various set of the NFT catalog was there in the collection of these NFTs. The actor would work on increasing the value of the existing NFTs with limited scarcity collection so that the existing owners of this NFT would increase the profit.

In short it was made like some sort of the MLM scheme where the value of the asset would improve with time. And that's where the scam happened. The NFTs and overall project was pushed too hype and then people realized that there is no logical value of those assets. And that moment is where the team and the Lana both ran away from the game.

P*rn Meets Rug Pull NFTs & Blockchain

People don't have problem if the blockchain payments are being accepted by the P*rn companies. And this way they can bypass the payment gateways and have the content out in the web. However the issue comes in when the NFTs and the tokens are generated in the name of the P*rn actors in the game. You can find that such type of the rug pull attitude has infested in the P*rn sector too.

They have found easy money logic through rug pull assets. And the actress has found way to do just that. She ran away with a big amount. This amount was 1.5 Million. This amount was not easy for the community to digest and they realized it was scam from the start. So in short people fall for the P*rn actors pre planned rug pull scam. And it's too late to realize just that.

I am not blaming blockchain and crypto for this. Because P*rn and the trafficking industry was already worst before blockchain ever existed. Here people can destroy lives of women, men and the people who are willing to pay for it. There is nothing good that comes out of this industry. When this industry touches anything genuine, that too gets affected.

How much to get involved in NFTs? Which niche in NFTs is safe and secure? You do the call on that. Because Moral and shady values are learned and can't be taught.

Lessons? Not all NFTs have the value. Even worst part, in real life such NFTs don't mean much.

So the balance of finding NFT to have value in real life means you have to create such paywall.

Anything related to Snake oil products, P*rn, Gamble type of the places you would find many scams.

It's always a good idea to keep yourself apart from those type of the marketplaces.

Stay away from Rug Pull projects. Especially the P*rn ones. Those are hard to resist.
