Heroku being a service on the run with the AWS, they were spending a lot of money on the free hosting. And at some point after salesforce buying them they decided to shut down the free plan. Like most of the free services, this too eventually died or is in process to die. So now that it is gone, I wonder what are some of the services we can see out there.
It is a good service for hosting the static content website. You may find that such type of services are good for hosting your content out there. But it may not stand for heavy traffic but for free it's enough. You may also find that netlify can be a good alternative for most of the small projects and the static sites.
You may find this as an alternative similar to Netlify. It can host the simple websites and the sites with limited database. So you may definitely choose this as it has some faster servers including CDN to host your image content. You would do good with the small sites and the CMS out there. I prefer it for static sites.
I recently learned about this service. As it is kind of a good service for those who want both traffic to their static sites and need reliable database functions. So it can be a good alternative provided that you can work around the free plans alternatives that you can get. I am going to shift some sites there to see how it goes.
Proper alternative to heroku as it has it's own methods for deployment of website and content. So in that context I have realized that porter is a good option as it can help with hosting, free price and other features along the way. It's a good service option one can try out for simplicity and speed too.
I think most of the Crypto services and the free sites out there on the crypto topic used the Heroku pretty heavily. But now that Heroku is gone, you may find other alternatives would be used and switched to in near future.
