Let's face it, we let google, facebook, amazon control our lives more than we have govt controlling our life. If you are content creator on their platforms they control your bread and butter. You are kind of limited in what you can earn and how long you can earn. If you depend on them long term, you can find one day yourselves losing everything.
This is where decentralized platforms come into the picture where people from variety of places can sustain your creator efforts. Imagine instead of depending on the youtube platform and the people who fund them, you make your videos to host on IPFS data centers under decentralized blockchains.
Why decentralized video is the future?
I am sure you have heard of the libry and the odysee sites. They earn you the LBC for the various types of the video and text content on their platforms. Though LBC is limited in exchanges and requires KYC to withdraw. What if you could have much better network where you can withdraw the crypto you earned instead of relying on exchanges?
This is where the Hive blockchain comes into the play. You create content. Be it text, video and the images. You host it and get the traffic to such content and this should give you a way for making the money when other people view it and rate it.
This has nothing to do with the algorithm. As long as you have followers you reach their feed and then you get to vote on the content which can make the creator money and you earn the hive power in return. This is kind of win-win for both the sides.
I have plans to make my video content available on hive and spk network and see if that would sustain me as a creator. I have been learning about coming out of the youtube dependency and make more platforms as an option incase *crap* hits the fan.
I have been investing into the Bitcoin Cash using the noise.cash type of the websites. And that profit is reinvested into other means. I wonder if the decentralized content hosting and getting the funds through tips is a way to make creative work sustainable.
