Games have variety of monetization models. Many gamers are aware of the access pass system and that sort of the system allows players to play tournaments and the quests specific for the premium users. However a lot of games have pass only mode where people only get access if they pay. That sort of the setup is coming to the blockchain MMORPG game.
One such MMORPG game that has been using this model in it's Alpha stage is Cradles: Origin of Species. I learned about it recently. So I thought why not share about it here.
How does the game work?
It starts from small place, grows into town and then city and finally civilization level. So each of that phase would consist of game models. Where you have like 6 models which makes it easy for your game to work around. Earlier levels pretty much explain you how to work around the game. And the level of simplicity is higher but as you go ahead, the difficulty increases.
There are PvP and the P2E modes too. So the rewards are there for the variety of the games and you earn the native token. The ecosystem here is funded through the players investing into the game. And they get rewards based on the distributed pool. In terms of the subscription access it is very expensive game. Like you have 399 USD worth of the access pass and higher amount also exists to the point of 1599 USD.
Is it deployed on Ethereum? Yes. Is it developed in unreal engine? Yes to that again.
As you can see the game has pretty high investment and they are taking it out from the gamers pocket. So it is going to be one of the costly game on the Ethereum. And it has NFT components too, so it's turning out to be a metaverse around it's MMORPG verse. How much it would make you in rewards? That is something debatable and also not easy to figure out as the access pass is costly.
I am in kind of a puzzled mode as to whether to suggest this to all the gamers or if it's just rich kids game based on the cost of investment.
