Trump granted amnesty to Ross Ulbrich, the co-founder of Silk Road, and this, in my opinion, is a landmark event for the entire crypto industry.
First, it means that Trump has begun to fulfill his campaign promises. And what is important for us is that one of these promises is directly related to cryptocurrencies.
Ross's release was a symbol for all Bitcoiners, and now it has become a reality. Trump is showing that the philosophy of decentralization and freedom underlying bitcoin matters to him. This is a powerful signal that Bitcoin supports its principles.
Secondly, this is just the beginning. In addition to the Ross amnesty, Trump has already taken several more important steps. For example, he fired Harry Gensler, who was one of the main brakes on the crypto industry at the SEC.
The new commissioner promises clearer and more favorable rules of the game for crypto assets.
And what awaits us next? I think we will see more fulfilled promises. One of them is the possible acceptance of bitcoin into the US strategic reserve.
Of course, this will not happen in one day — there are too many forces that can resist this. But if Trump starts moving in that direction, it's already a huge step.
I am also sure that he will overturn Biden's veto on SAB 121, which prevented banks from working with cryptocurrencies. This will open a gateway for banks to enter the crypto business.
The SEC is already working on creating a framework that will allow banks to actively engage in crypto payments.
This can blow up the stablecoin market, attract huge liquidity and make entry into the crypt even easier for both investors and ordinary users.
All these changes are not just local steps. These are fundamental changes that can become a catalyst for mass adoption of cryptocurrencies.
And let's be honest: with such prospects, the price of a million dollars per bitcoin ceases to be a fantasy. It's just the next goal.
Just as we once looked at 100,000 and believed it was possible, now we're looking at a million. And this road is going to be exciting. We're on course. 💪
