There are over 36.4 million cryptotokens in the world today, and the number could reach 100 million by the end of 2025.
For comparison, there were less than 3,000 tokens in the 2017-2018 altcoin season, and less than 500 in 2013-2014.
What does this mean for us?
The token market has become oversaturated. Supply significantly exceeds demand. Expectations that the "altcoin season" will last for weeks or months are becoming unrealistic.

Such periods will still occur, but their duration will be reduced to a few days or weeks at most.
What to do?
1. Adjust expectations. The market has changed, and trying to make money from everything no longer works.
2. Review portfolios. The competition among tokens is so great that the chances of choosing a successful altcoin have dropped to a minimum.
Why is this important?
The altcoin season, which used to cheer up investors, is no longer encouraging. At the same time, the total market capitalization is growing, and investors are increasingly disappointed.
The reason is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to find assets that will actually produce results.
Becoming a good "coin selector" has become as difficult as choosing successful stocks.
With the advent of new technologies, including the AI revolution, most stocks are losing out to the S&P 500 — and even more so to the Nasdaq 100.
The same can be said about cryptocurrencies: only a few tokens stand up to the competition.
We live in a world where the crypto asset market has become extremely complicated. It has become more difficult to invest, but this is not a reason to give up. On the contrary, this time requires discipline, cold calculation and a clear strategy from us.
We are facing an era of immense abundance, where untold millions of tokens are competing for limited attention.
The main thing is not to lose focus and remember: the cost of a mistake in an overloaded market is much higher than before.
