Now this guy is in his forties. He has his own small business, but this page from his life he will never forget. He asked to remain incognito, so I won't write his name.

When he turned 18, his parents insisted he find a part-time job to start preparing for adulthood. It didn't matter what kind of part-time job it would be - permanent or new every day, the main thing was that he should earn money on his own. There was one condition: he had to give half of his earnings to his parents. The rest of the money could be spent at his discretion.

The boy accepted this condition, considering it fair. He lives with his parents and eats at their expense. And it would be much more expensive to rent a place and live separately. His parents spent 100 times more on him than he could earn. They didn't live well. His father was a driver, his mother worked as a school teacher.

The boy easily found part-time work: he worked as a loader in stores, swept yards. Even worked part-time in a car service. He managed to study at the institute and rest with friends.

All this time he honestly gave his parents half of his salary.

At the age of 24, when the guy had already graduated from the institute and got a permanent job in a small construction firm, he decided to move out of his parents, start a family and live independently. No more sitting on his parents' necks, it was time to do the honors.

To begin with, the boy introduced his parents to his future wife. They were happy that their son had become an adult and helped them find a suitable apartment. Like everyone else, they wanted to see their grandchildren.

At dinner at his parents, the guy told his daughter-in-law about how he had been working part-time since he was 18 years old and that he gave half of his earnings to his parents. Such an act she appreciated. Girls love hard-working, generous guys.

But when the young were about to go home, the father brought a puffy envelope from the room and handed it to his son. He began to deny that he didn't need money, that he was earning well and would be able to support his family.

But then the mother told him that it was actually his money. His parents put everything he gave them into this envelope, and now there was a decent amount of money there, enough for the first time.

This story taught him how to save. The most valuable lesson in his life was taught to him by his parents. Now he always has money and does not live from paycheck to paycheck. He is developing his construction company. His wife opened her own private kindergarten.

Now they also take half of his son's salary. But he doesn't yet understand why.
