Maybe you missed the news in May 2020: the Litecoin Foundation will partner with Atari, the legendary computer game maker. Atari will release its own token, a crypto casino and a new game console. The companies announced this on May 19 by means of a press release. Atari plans to launch its own cryptocurrency this September: the Atari Token. The company reports that the token will first be sold using initial coin offerings (ICOs). Atari accepts bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH) in exchange for its new token and now also adds litecoin (LTC) to this list.
The Atari Token can be used for a number of things, including managing and tracking digital assets in the Atari ecosystem. In addition, Atari plans to open an online casino where the new token can be used. Atari will also release a new gaming console: the Atari VCS. Atari reports that the new system will become a so called PC / Console hybrid on which new games as well as Atari classics, such as Asteroids and Breakout, can be played. The system can also stream videos in 4k resolution.
There will be a price tag on the system of $ 389 (355 euros). If you buy the console with litecoin, you will receive a discount. However, it is currently unknown how high this discount will be. I will certainly buy one, because I love old school revivals :)
