In my last article, I mentioned projects that are very interesting to follow because they are promising and also reward their members with an airdrop so Aethir is one of them ! Today, I’m going to update you on the second season of the airdrop.
What Is Aethir
As some of you may know, I’m a big believer in DePIN projects. I’ve written various articles about them and believe they are a narrative to watch for during the bull run. I’ve already introduced Aethir in a previous article, but to summarize :
Aethir is a decentralized aggregator of enterprise-grade GPUs like the Nvidia H100. GPUs are crucial for training artificial intelligence models and are widely used in the gaming industry !
Also, Aethir offers many ways to participate in the network, including through nodes and Aethir Edge devices.
Season 2 Cloud Drop
Season 2 started a few days after the Token Generation Event (TGE) of Aethir on June 12, 2024. It was mentioned earlier by the Chief Architect of the project that it will primarily reward $ATH stakers :

So don’t forget to stake your $ATH if you have some, it will help with the airdrop. The total amount of $ATH that will be distributed in this second season is 1.5% of the total supply (630M), just like in the first season.
However, you can also participate for free using the roles system on their Discord server. Basically, it’s a system that rewards your participation in the community with social engagements :

By chatting on Discord and participating in various activities such as poker, Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions, and quizzes, you will earn XP that will help you rank up. Each chatter role corresponds to a specific rank :
- Newbie chatter : rank 8
- Regular chatter : rank 16
- Active chatter : rank 20
You will also need to post on social media about Aethir to earn social roles :
- Newbie social : 10 posts about Aethir (1 per day)
- Regular social : 10 more posts about the project (1 per day) + 2 memes or one blog post
- Active social : 10 more posts about Aethir (1 per day) + 2 memes or one blog post
There are also Galxe quests to claim points for the roles you acquire. I’ll include all the links below. New tasks are released each month, so don’t miss them ! The season will end on February 25, 2025, so you still have time to complete these tasks.
My Opinion
To be honest, farming roles requires time and dedication, but with 5 months left, you still have plenty of time. For me, the easiest way to participate is by staking $ATH tokens. However, I understand that this may be difficult for some, so I think farming roles could be interesting if you have the time.
Especially with the higher roles that not many people have, because in the first season, people with high ranks in the previous system received a nice airdrop (10k $ATH at least). There were far fewer participants back then, so it’s different this time for sure.
