A large statue the color of gold featuring DJ (Donald John) Trump holding a BITCOIN was installed in front of the US Capitol Washington DC, on Wednesday, September 16th.
The statue is 12 foot long, or 3.65 meters.
Supposedly, the statue was not made by Trump himself, but by a group of cryptocurrency enthusiasts.
“The installation is designed to ignite conversation about the future of government-issued currency and is a symbol of the intersection between modern politics and financial innovation,” said Hichem Zaghdoudi, a representative of the collective of crypto investors who have funded this artistic installation. “As the Federal Reserve shapes economic policy, we hope this statue prompts reflection on cryptocurrency’s growing influence.”
Another report states:
“Organizers said the piece is intended to provoke debate about the future of digital currency, monetary policy, and the federal government’s role in financial markets.”
The display of the statue coincided with the upcoming Federal Reserve's interest rate decision.
The statue, or better called art installation, was there just for one day, then they removed it.
Reception - both positive and negative, with some users stating on Twitter "That's awesome. He's the best!” or “The GOAT!! He’s working hard to make America the crypto hub! 🔥💯”.
Some other comments have stated that "statues like these will not make things any less tense in Washington".
Reddit comments have been mostly negative, with some users stating: "Americans are living in a political cartoon, but the satire isn’t even funny".
Another one read: "This is likely some campaign to get him to change rules/laws for Bitcoin"
Some have been brutally honest: "It looks like shit".
I understand the critics, but I also think it's fun(ny).
Maybe it really wasn't Trump or his team behind this art installation. They probably have too much going together with the crypto tokens Trump Coin & WLFI...
What do guys you think about it?
