Coinbase is definitely one of the leading crypto exchanges in the industry. That being said I’m only here in this article to discuss my personal experience as a Coinbase user, what I love about the platform and what I think could be improved. 

I mean the obvious disadvantage for any crypto enthusiast is that it is a centralized exchange and they hold the keys to your assets, that’s a  big no no for any decentralized activists, nonetheless it’s usually a great start for beginners and those being introduced to crypto for the first time, it’s also a well established and trusted platform. 

On that note, it’s also very beginner friendly, starting with a clean interface, easy transactions and simple trading.

Additionally Coinbase has great incentives, such as their referral program (which I have yet to use), Learning rewards which is my favorite, though I wish they had more of them, easy way to earn free crypto. For some assets Coinbase offers on platform staking which is another great way to passively earn free crypto. 

Over all a great platform and when using it you can see why they’re one of the leading exchanges. 

Though not so many and not very significant I will mention briefly some of the areas which for me can be improved. 

I’ve got stuck many times with the minimum limit needed to complete a transaction, I get why it’s a thing but it was definitely frustrating in the moment when I wanted to make a transaction but then needed more funds but had to add more than I wanted to due to the minimum limit requirements.

Also I find the all time calculation of funds/all time gains and losses to be calculated in a way that isn’t so helpful to me, for example funds that were sent out of the account are for some reason still part of the equation and though I know it’s not their fault but also it’s not calculated based on my purchase price on Coinbase pro rather based on its worth when in was transferred to Coinbase. 

As well as something to look out for which again you can say is not based on them is high fees for transactions, obviously this varies on the asset and the transaction and subscribing to Coinbase one might alleviate some of those high prices (personally I plan on using my one month free trial at a time when I plan on doing many/larger transactions, otherwise as of now paying for it is not worth it for me as of now).

One last thing, their online support is great for any simple issues but anything bigger than that you can expect it to take a some time for your issue to be resolved as the problem climbs up the ranks till it gets to someone who can help.
