A considerable portion of my crypto portfolio is currently in ADA please don’t roast me for that :) and although for some of my other assets I’m a pretty big fan of KuCoin lending, for some reason Ada isn’t lending at high enough interest rate for it to really be worthwhile, so I’ve been using another feature on KuCoin.
In KuCoin earn there is a category called promotions, there are various assets available with varying staking options and rewards.
For the last few months I’ve been using this feature to stake my Ada, staking for the 30 day fixed rate of just above 8 percent (annually), receiving the staking rewards daily.
While this method has been working for me and I’m overall happy with the returns, there is the hassle of every 30 days needing to stake it again and while there are usually a number of options available the one that I like to use (the 30 day 8%) has a fairly small pool of just 2 million Ada and fills up very quickly.
It has been challenging to be able to enter my Ada in this staking pool in a timely manner, and what’s frustrating is that the pool that yields 6% is over double the size at 5 million Ada.
While I do understand why they do that, (so they can get a bigger cut from the earnings) I would be very happy if they considered growing the higher yielding pools giving their users an opportunity to yield as well.
On a side note it is very important to be cautious when using KuCoin and similar platforms, they offer high rate rewards for joining some of their programs and services but it’s important to keep in mind why they’re doing and how do they make money off it, that way you can be extra careful with your assets.
For example they have this program called dual investment where essentially they are betting against you and when you lose they gain, it’s still a great program and very high yielding, but when you keep that in mind you can mitigate your risk.
