I am writing to you with a heavy heart to seek your help in raising funds for my beloved mother, Reeta Goyal, who has been battling breast cancer for the past few years. As her daughter, it is heart-wrenching to see her suffer from excruciating pain and undergo numerous rounds of treatment. But despite all the struggles, my mother is a fighter who has never given up hope.

In 2019, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and the treatment cost us a whopping INR 22 Lacs. We had to sell our home to cover the expenses as we didn’t had the health insurance, and it was a tough decision to make. But with the support of our friends and family, we were able to provide her with the best medical care and get her back on track. But in June 2022, she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer stage IV, which is triple-negative and considered more aggressive than other types of breast cancer. The cancer has spread to her to L1, L4 & L5, Bilateral Pelvic Bone, and the Right Femur. We are struggling to arrange the funds for her treatment, and we are seeking your help to cover the future cost of her treatment and rehabilitation program.
Note : During her first battle with cancer, we never asked for help and instead sold our home to fund her treatment. However, as she faces her second battle with the disease, we are now reaching out for support.
Timeline:
- In 2019, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and we spent INR 22 Lacs on her treatment. She underwent 16 Immunotherapy + 6 Chemotherapy sessions, and had to undergo a Chemo port placement surgery. She also had a mastectomy for her right breast and had 16 rounds of radiation.
- From August 2020 till May 2022, she went for routine check-ups every three months, , which included mammography, PET CT, Ultrasound, CBC, KFT, LFT, MRI, etc., and everything appeared normal.
- In June 2022, my mother started experiencing excruciating pain in her bones near the hips and thighs. A subsequent PET scan revealed that the cancer had spread to her bones. She was then diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer stage IV, which is triple-negative.
- MRI revealed that the cancer had spread to L1, L4 & L5, Bilateral Pelvic Bone, and the Right Femur. Doctors recommended an emergency Hip Joint Replacement surgery. So far, the treatment has cost us INR 10,00,000/-, which includes the above surgery, 5 rounds of radiation + 8 chemotherapy till now.
The main cost components with their average cost are:
- Immunotherapy + Chemotherapy (Eleftha) + Day Care for 10 rounds → INR 4,50,000/-
- Pharmacy (Medicine) per Chemo/Immuno Cycle for 10 round → INR 1,60,000/-
- PET CT → INR 19,000/-
- Chemo Port Surgery → INR 1,20,000/-
- Biopsy Testing → INR 26,000/-
- MRI / Mammography/ CT / Ultrasound / Xray → INR 20,000/-
- Masectomy → INR 1,50,000/-
- Radiation for 10 rounds → INR 80,000/-
- Physiotherapy → INR 1,000/-
- Limb Salvage Surgery with Megaprosthesis (Hip Joint Surgery) → INR 6,00,000/
We are now seeking your help to cover the future cost of my mother’s treatment and rehabilitation program. We need to raise a significant amount to ensure that she receives the best possible care and treatment. We also want to raise awareness about triple negative breast cancer, which is a highly aggressive type of cancer that spreads rapidly. My cousin brother also took up a trip to Mt Everest Base Camp to raise awareness about Breast Cancer as well on 1st January 2023
