Your first cryptocurrency investment can be overwhelming. Before you dive into the complex trading strategies you hear about on social media, find a strategy that’s simple to implement and maintain as you learn.

If I were just starting out and had $100 to invest in cryptocurrencies, here is how I would invest it:

• $20 into Bitcoin because it is the most established cryptocurrency that you can buy. Also, if you hold it for a long period of time, then it is very likely you will to be able to sell it for a profit at some point.
• $20 into Ethereum because it is another one of those currencies, where in terms of growth potential and total risk factor, is a safe bet for long term dynamic growth.
• $30 into a global financial transaction facilitator like XLM.
• $20 into a DEFI application. My current favourite is Chainlink.
• $10 into a 3rd Gen Blockchain because these are very high risk,  but high reward. My current preferences are Polkadot, Cardano, or EOS.

*Since coins don’t generally cost the same per coin, the value should be calculated in fiat or a base currency, so the different coins won’t be equal in quantity, but in value.
