We're here! It’s 2020 and for those of us who stuck around during 2019 will know that whilst the successful forward thinking companies building the future of blockchain were doing so at pace, the markets felts weak throughout. Will 2020 be a change in trend for the Crypto markets…this isn’t something I’ll claim to know but things do feel different and it's the companies who have focused on building that will no doubt prevail.
In an announcement at DevCon5 expo in Osaka, Japan late last year OmiseGo (https://omisego.co) and Hydro Labs (https://hydrolabs.org/) announced an exciting partnership which is now looking to flourish, I’ll explain why I believe this to be so however, first let me overview Hydro Labs, they are a company building products on the $Hydro token Eco-system (www.projecthydro.org) currently they are developing a suite of DeFi applications all utilising the $Hydro token protocols, the products currently being built out are;
- ‘Hydro Vault’ – Arguably set to be the most secure blockchain based wallet on the market.
- ‘Hydro Pay’ – Global payments app allowing users to transfer either crypto or fiat funds.
- ‘Hydro Drive’ – Decentralised file storage system secured and tied to a single digital identity.

Back to the main reason for my article and it’s all in the timing, the OmiseGo and Hydro Labs partnership is set to be a milestone for both companies, Hydro Labs are going to be the first company to integrate OmiseGo’s plasma solution in to V.2 of the Hydro Pay app enabling super-fast side chain transactions.
OmiseGo recently announced (source - https://twitter.com/omise_go/status/1214404562074750976?s=20) that they are close to launching to main-net, along with this announcement you can read the some of the telegram group (https://t.me/OmiseGo) admins talking about a possible launch before February.
IF OmiseGo are to hit their expected launch for main-net are we then going to see Hydro Labs announce the release of their V.2 of Hydro Pay? Anyone who follows $Hydro can appreciate what this would me for not only the token holders such as myself but also the space and adoption. Hydro Pay V.2 boasts updates and new features such as;
- iOS support
- Super-fast transactions
- Fiat on-ramps
- Full deposit and withdrawal features
- Remittance services (currently in partnership with Liquid Global – full details can be found here - https://projecthydro.org/blog/introducing-new-hydro-partner-liquid/)
- Plus more.
Hydro Pay V.1 is currently available on android only via Google play store.

Let’s wait to see how this unfolds!
