EOS total supply capped at 2.1 billion tokens
According to Yves La Rose, CEO of the EOS Network Foundation, EOS token supply will be reduced from current 10 billion to 2.1 billion.
The foundation has received consent from 15 of the 21 block producers to burn 80% of the excess tokens to establish the new fixed supply.
EOS currently has a circulating supply of 1.15 billion tokens, which is 54% of the total planned supply. EOS has taken the lead in the market after this announcement.
