There are two kinds of people in crypto.
People who say:
“I have a well-researched investment strategy.”
And people like me, who open their wallet 17 times a day just to make sure the money is still there.
I belong to the second group.
I wake up.
Coffee.
Phone.
Wallet.
Chart.
Regret.
Then coffee again.
My Wallet Has Seen Things
I have passed through bull markets and bear markets, I have seen random tokens spring up from nowhere, I've seen gas fees that were personally insulting and I've seen transactions that made me look at my screen and say:
“Have I been sending my money into another dimension?
It's a sensation that all crypto users are familiar with.
The address is duplicated.
You check it.
You check it again.
You do a network scan.
You read the address once again.
You make a screen shot.
You have a screen shot to look at.
You double check the address again.
Then click on Send.
And in your mind you say:
“Well done, you've made your first error.”
Then Comes the Blockchain Anxiety
Traditional banking:
Your transfer is being processed.”
Crypto:
“Transaction submitted.”
Me:
“Great.”
Five seconds later:
So why hasn't it been confirmed?”
Ten seconds:
Perhaps I chose the wrong network.
Twenty seconds:
“Perhaps the blockchain is disapproving of me.”
Thirty seconds:
I wish I'd been a baker.”
And then...
Confirmed.
Well, I suddenly find myself a blockchain expert once more.
I Also Have a Very Scientific Investment Strategy
My strategy is extremely sophisticated.
Step 1: Research a project.
Step 2: Read about the technology.
Step 3: Check the team.
Step 4: Look at tokenomics.
Step 5: Read community discussions.
Step 6: Tell myself I'm going to be responsible.
Step 7:
“Hmm... this other coin has a cool logo.”
There goes the research.
Crypto Has Also Changed My Relationship With Numbers
Even before crypto, the significance of $100 was $100.
Now?
$100 can become:
$97.
$103.
$84.
$126.
$71.
$109.
And sometimes...
$4.38
There I don't even know if I'm still investing.
I'm watching animals.
The Most Dangerous Sentence in Crypto
I think every crypto investor has said this at least once:
“I'll just check the chart for one minute.”
One minute becomes ten.
Ten becomes thirty.
Suddenly it's 2:13 AM.
You're watching a candlestick move sideways.
Your eyes hurt.
Your family thinks you're sleeping.
And you're sitting there thinking:
“Something is definitely about to happen.”
Nothing happens.
You go to sleep.
You wake up.
Still nothing happened.
But Here's The Weird Part
In the midst of all the commotion...
I still like Web3.
There's a lot of speculation, memes, and endless debates about which chain is going to “win” under the memes, charts, speculation and endless debates about which chain is going to “win”...
It's interesting projects that are being built, truly.
Individuals are trying out novel means of transferring funds, possessing digital assets, developing online businesses and communities.
Some projects will disappear.
Some will survive.
Others will leave everyone in awe.
Some will certainly be a costly lesson.
That's crypto.
You learn.
You experiment.
You make mistakes.
You try again.
Hopefully, you don't make the same error again.
My Current Crypto Philosophy
Don't rely upon a green candle without question.
Ignore the red candle: it's not an emergency.
Avoid clicking on links or advertisements that are not intended.
Never send money before checking out the network.
And most importantly:
Don't invest money solely because someone wrote “100x incoming 🚀🚀🚀” on the internet.
I have already learned enough, so that I know that rockets are easy to draw.
Earning a buck is somewhat more difficult.
So yes...
I have a mistrust of crypto wallets.
I have mood swings in my portfolio.
I have around 47 crypto tabs open in my brain.
And somehow...
I'm still here.
What is the funniest thing you ever had to do with crypto?

If that's the case at least I'll know I'm not alone. 😅
