June Is Historically BAD for Crypto — Will 2025 Break the Pattern?

By cryptosnackable | Crypto Snackable | 5 Jun 2025

June has a rough reputation in the crypto world. Historically, it's one of the worst months for Bitcoin and Ethereum — and many major altcoins fare even worse.

📉 Historical Averages:

  • BTC: Avg June return –0.34%, median –0.23%

  • ETH: Avg June return –6.8%

  • XRP, ADA, BNB, SOL: All show June as their worst month on record

So far, June 2025 is living up to the trend. After hitting new highs in May, BTC has already pulled back 6% — and volume is drying up. The “sell in May” effect is real.

Yet not all is gloomy. Analysts point to strong fundamentals like ETF inflows, declining issuance, and altcoin dominance as signs the market may simply be cooling off before the next leg up.

🔮 What’s Next?
June could remain choppy, but July–August might bring stabilization, and history shows that Q3 often leads into explosive Q4 rallies.

⚠️ In short: Don’t panic, but don’t expect fireworks this month either.
