I hope you had a fair night and now you are in the mood for a new day. a good one.

I'm telling you this because I'd like to remember together what feelings I experimented in the last 2 days since I am in crypto.

as a luck - I entered in November, 2018 - when BTC was 5 000 $ and I just saw only a decrease until 3 156 $ in December 2018 and one big dump in March, 2020. Between these periods, however, I had to fight with different kind of feelings, and this sentiment is unique spiced only by Altcoins.

Why I am telling this?

Because, when you thought the storm passed (BTC is stabilized or even is in recovery), the real dance is starting.

So, who didn't live such feelings at least once (a year) when we were convinced that now is the moment for buying something and the next days (or weeks-months) were a cocktail of hope, despair and acceptance?

"I am different"

Let's look at this picture below:

Indeed, I have at least 5 moments like this.

You heard about it, but it didn't happen to you. Because you are a fine analyst even you didn't read at least one book about trading or market behavior and you know when to invest or not. And, sometime, this started to show up:

1-3 First, something is catching your interest. You started to watch it. When you think the direction is according with your hopes, you jump in the train.

4. Such a luck! The trend is going up, like you forecasted. Of course, you've seen this before. Is not a big deal for the experimented guys like you.

5. But wait, a little correction. A good one for increasing the position. Because BTC is going up. It is normal that the Alts needs time for accommodate with the new price.

6. Why not, such a luck, again! Let's double the investment in this moment of temporary dump! 

7-11 The dark feelings are even darker, you are now convinced that somewhere, sometime, something was broken. That's it - sold everything. Get out!

12-14. Your decision is confirmed. The price is going even deeper and you knew it. No hope for this Alt.

15. Until now, But it should be on a short time (Advice: I suggest you, at this point and maybe sooner - delete your tracking service for this coin you sold, for your good. What is gone should stay gone.)

16. Something is happening.

17. Yes, it is happening!

18. Of course is a good investment. Look at the chart!

19. We are below the previous buy. Now is the moment! 

And after that, could be happy or bad endings.

Yeah, we had such feelings, all of us. Maybe there are people who doesn't recognize it, but I can guarantee, we had it all!

I tried Stop Loss for protection, first - at 5% decrease, but it was touched and after that, my coin was pumping with 40%.

Then I tried 20% - I said, this is it! If it's below, there is only one direction. You guessed. There are 2 directions: down and deeper OR down and after that, upper. So I was a victim, again.

There are no rules in crypto, maybe only in short time trades (days). Maybe then you should use stop loss orders.

But I think, the most important thing is Fundamental Analysis. No matter how bad is a price quotation for a coin, if the fundamentals are good, there are 99% chances to be a winner from that investment.

But there is an IF, and this is for comparing the profit of an investment at a certain period of time: if the profit is going to take form in maybe 3-4 months, maybe is safer to get out with a small loss and find another opportunities.

But if you are an occasional investor, than only choose some of the most important coins after you read as much as you can about it and wait for a medium to long term while keep being informed about the project status, to be sure the direction is preserved.

The theory is much simpler when the money is not involved. Especially own money. Keep your feelings away from investments. Have a clear mind and look for a long term perspective.
