PayPal, the global payment system that everyone loves except for the vast majority, announced that it is the "real Craig Wright"!
What does this mean? Well, first and foremost it means that this couldn't possibly be true, but in crypto, it makes more sense than the things that ARE in fact true. In a week where Facebook literally, and I mean literally banned a post from Satire news outlet Babylon Bee, an anonymous dude like Gordon Freeman can announce something this silly and I bet a lot of people clicked because for a split second they thought it was true. It's crypto- the most likely thing to happen never does, and the most ridiculous happens at least 3 times/day!
So, let's get this farce rolling forward, shall we?
PayPal, yada yada going to let you buy, sell, wallet crypto yada yada yada... cleared the air that all that mess about Craig Wright pretending to be Satoshi all of these years, was actually a secret project between PayPal, Elon Musk and Putin, to enrage people into accidentally buying more Bitcoin. Apparently, years of government tests have proven people have an instinct to move towards destruction, and it seems that every time Craig Wright went on a rant about being the "real" Satoshi Nakamoto, the price of Bitcoin went up. This Russia-driven plot with PayPal was titled Operation PayPal-Clip, and it has been a yugeeeee success.
So, lets talk about the funniest part of all of this. Craig Wright, in all his splendor, has cared more about proving to people he is the real Satoshi, than the several billion dollars he's forced to pay in court rulings, followed by taxes. Has anyone truly considered the robust ridiculousness of this? Lemme help, then. Satoshi is an imaginary character invented by a person or people. Can you imagine a real person, who was clearly really one of the earliest adopters of Bitcoin, wanting desperately for people to believe they are an imaginary person? Why not focus on making a big splash about being the person you actually are?
BSV, arguably one of the better off-shoots of the original Bitcoin, handles a lot of things better, quicker, faster, more efficiently. But, we hardly ever hear these positives from Wright, who scares most people off with his ideas of attaching a license and fee to every searched and used item on the Web 3.0, could be outlining the great usefulness of BSV, but instead the jealousy battle with Bitcoin Core and Roger Ver and Bitcoin Cash, steers our attention towards meme-worthy distractions about Wright and how wrong he seems to be regarding Satoshi, to a degree that rivals Peter Schiff's ridiculous misunderstanding of global economics, and Peter McCormack's apparent death spiral disconnect with Bitcoin and Hex reality.
Welcome to the real world of crypto, where Crypto Gordon Freeman can go off on tangents and still make more sense than the reasoning for a massive pump on market.
One last thing to think about; PayPal actually announced they are going to be providing a crypto wallet and crypto payments on their platform. Hurrah!
We saw a huge spike when Bitcoin listing on CME was expected to launch us into mass adoption. We saw the same when JPMorgan announced they were issuing a central bank coin. We saw the same when Microsoft and Starbucks announced a deal through the ICE for crypto payments. We saw the same when Bakkt launched. We saw the same when Facebook announced Libra and launched a currency war with China that is a bell that cannot be unrung.
Why is it, that only news which is horrendous for crypto, that is completely polar opposite (or, dare I say bipolar opposite?) to the values that got the most loyal crypto-folks interested, are the things that make Bitcoin pump?
Stick that in your food-for-thought blender and make a "good point Gordon" smoothie! It's good for your health.
