On 23rd of January Seascape conducted an AMA in Crypto Revolution Community. Our guests were Nicky and David from Seascape Team. They answered a lot of questions. Let’s take a look at most interesting points from the AMA.

Nicky | Seascape: Hello all, I’m Nicky. Passionate about games and stepped into the Gaming industry in 2014. Experience at established Chinese game studios such as Yoozoo, Forgame and Moonton. Worked as a project manager of <League of Angels>, which won the ‘BEST FACEBOOK GAME’ in 2014. It was a huge success and led to a very good market performance. Also worked as a designer and operation team leader on <Liberators>, a WW2 strategy game that also won the ‘BEST FACEBOOK GAME’ in 2016.
Currently leading development of BLOCKLORDS, an innovative medieval grand strategy blockchain game. And also Co-founder and COO of Seascape Network. Personally I got into crypto because of CryptoKitties. Its success also gives me inspiration about combining the games with blockchain technology, allowing “play and earn” to become the next wave in the industry.
David | Seascape: Hey everyone, I’m David, founder and creative director of the Seascape Network. I’ve been a game developer for the last decade working in studios such as Paradox Interactive, mainly working on historical strategy games. I started getting involved in blockchain in 2016, first as an investor and later as the creator of BLOCKLORDS, which was the first blockchain strategy game. Since then, we’ve received funding and grants from many major blockchain institutions and protocols, and we are ready to take the next step on our journey by developing the Seascape Network, a game platform designed around the Defi and NFT economies!

What is Seascape? And how is the story behind the Seascape Network Creation?
Nicky | Seascape: Seascape Network is a game platform designed around the Defi and NFT economies!
As me and my team were working on BLOCKLORDS, which is a very ambitious blockchain strategy game, we started noticing a lot of problem with most protocols and the sdks they provided to game developers, which made development of successful and scalable dapps almost impossible for small teams.
As we improved our project management processes and workflow, as well as with our increased experience in smart contracts, we decided we could develop a platform ourselves and offer the tools to other game devs to access the world of blockchain.
This, along with our excitement about DeFi and the added liquidity it provides to small projects, made us take the leap and go from developing one game to a whole platform instead!
Danny| Crypto Revolution: What is so exciting about Seascape Network, which might make Seascape Network different from all other projects out there?
David | Seascape: Having worked with most top 20 chains out on the market, we can say with confidence that most developer tools for blockchains are painfully inadequate. There is a huge learning curve for any given smart contract protocol, and the developer tools and environments are incredibly hard to set up. This is the main reason why ethereum is so popular, because other chains are basically impossible to work with.
With Seascape, we plan to change all of that. By releasing a clear and well-documented set of SDKs, we plan to make game developers be able to tokenize their projects in a much clearer and easier way than anything that is currently available. Our past experience releasing games on multiple chains makes us experts in this matter.
This, along with our promised vision of building an entire game platform based around DeFi and with clear user incentives in mind, is what will push seascape to the forefront of gamified DeFi!
Danny | Crypto Revolution: Please provide some information about your Roadmap, How Seascape Network is progressing so far? And what Seascape Network is currently focused on?
Nicky | Seascape: The first step of our launch will be to release the Seascape game platform, which will of course host our core strategy game, BLOCKLORDS, but also 3 brand new DeFi mini-games which will provide great opportunities for our users to earn. This will all be released on the Ethereum mainnet as while transaction fees are high, most of the value is still there for our users to grab.

Nicky | Seascape: Following the launch of the Seascape platform both on Ethereum and BSC, we will begin our transition to Substrate in later 2021. It will begin with a new random number generator developed on Substrate, which will offer a unique decentralized product for other dapp developers in the polkadot ecosystem. We will also release a host of other games, both developed by our own studio and other partners we have made partnerships with. All projects associated with Seascape will use Crowns as the core token for value transfer.
Danny| Crypto Revolution: Please tell us more about $CWS (Crowns) token! What utilities does the token have, and what benefits will tokens holders get?
David | Seascape: Crowns are the official token of the Seascape Network. We’ve actually written a number of articles discussing these in detail, but succintly:

What are some achievement that Seascape Network has achieved so far? And what are Seascape Network’s upcoming plans, Especially in 2021?
David | Seascape: So far we have done the following: Released blocklords on over half a dozen chains and l2 solutions. WE have also done a lot of experimentation with developing DeFi protocols on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and the polkadot/substrate ecosystem. We have also forged partnership with game developers all around the world who will continue releasing products on our platform.
Our achievements include not only the projects we have released and are currently working on, but also an overall expansion into gamified defi unlike any way it has ever been done before. Our partnerships with strong companies such as Chainlink, DAO Maker, and Binance will only continue to expand as we grow our presence in the blockchain gaming field!

Could you give us an overview of the tokenomics? Is the token designed to rise and fall with the success of the platform? And does it include any scarcity paths such as stake, store, or burn?
Nicky | Seascape: The universal token of the Seascape Network, Crowns, is designed to ensure value accrual and steady growth for those involved on the Network; with rewards proportional to involvement. In our first series of DeFi minigames, users will be able to provide liquidity to the ETH-CWS pair, and in return receive rewards in Crowns. By carefully balancing the rewards granted in order to avoid massive inflation, Crowns resemble many other successful pioneers in the 2020 Token Rush, such as Synthetix. We will incentivize liquidity for our tokens on external exchanges, such as Uniswap, liquidity providers (LPs) for Seascape receive both trading fees on Uniswap and liquidity mining rewards from Seascape. This process enables users to receive rewards from multiple symbiotic protocols, thereby strengthening and legitimizing the DeFi community while gaining financial benefits at the same time.

Seascape will build games on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), Does it means is kind of sign too for $CROWNS will listed on BINANCE in near future?
David | Seascape: I’ll answer this one!
We cannot disclose the details of our arrangement at the moment but we have conducted a range of negotiations with a variety of top-tier exchanges and will be making annoucnements about our listing plans once the Token Generation Event has taken place on Uniswap. The reason we chose Uniswap is because we think it is a great way to make sure our tokens are distributed in a fair way to our early community users. Enabling rewards for liquidity providers also allows us to stabilize early volatility in a way that benefits our early supporters!

Who are the main targets of Seascape?How can we get NFT from Seascape? Also what are the necessary steps to release a game on Seascape by a user?
Nicky | Seascape: The main targets will be DeFi belivers, NFT and Game lovers and also normal palyers.
The way to get NFT in Seascape is simple: Play our games.
In the game called NFT BRAWL, users have the option to spend Crowns to get an NFT of random quality. In this game any player can choose to spend any amount they wish to mint NFTs. Meanwhile, the NFT staking game, which is named STAKING SALOON, works in a similar fashion. A user can stake an NFT and start earning Crowns. The APY will be significant in size. But the catch here is that to claim the Crowns, the NFT will be burnt. Meaning that the user will have to make a decision: “Do I claim now and lose my NFTs to get the reward?” or “Do I wait until the end of the event to get the maximum amount of rewards?” This will make users think twice before claiming their rewards, which is what we wanted.

David | Seascape: Actually, I have some news to share in this group!
Our rebasing mechanic is called ‘Paywave’. Paywave was never about increasing the supply of the token, like projects such as ampleforth. For us it was about redistributing the profits of our games to the players. Because of this, we have decided to rebrand the rebasing mechnaic of Crowns to the “”Paywave”” the paywave will be a weekly occasion where the users who hold Crowns will all receive a share of the game’s profits. This will help drive both engagement and usage of the coins, as well as encourage users to hold the token.
The Paywave is unique in nature because it is the first token mechanic that truly makes the holders owners of the gaming platform they are using. Because so few tokenized game projects actually have games on their platforms, they also have no sinks that will take away tokens from the supply. The first Paywave will not be triggered until a significant portion of the supply has been spent in-game as well, so it will serve as a sync for extra tokens in the early days of the token’s launch.

To draw in a new crowd who isn’t familiar with blockchain tech but maybe used to more traditional mobile or casino games and who wants to earn real rewards with their time spent playing.
Once you unlock the potential to earn while you play, it will draw in a lot of new users who will help spread crypto adoption to previously unimagined heights!

ETH2 is coming very soon, what will happen to Seascape?
Nicky | Seascape: Right now ETH enjoys a majority of the value. We would love to see ETH 2.0 take off, but that seems like it remains at least a year or two off in the future. So we have to find some layer 2 solutions in the mean time, which is why we’re using Polkadot for the best user experience in the meantime. So, in short, we don’t see issues with ETH 2.0 and we very much look forward to using it in the future. However, we have to get over some issues such as high gas fees and user friendliness in the short term and prepare for future as it develops.

Is it possible to stake the earned NFT’s, and get staking rewards from them?
David | Seascape: Yes, staking NFTs will definitely be possible, and is actually going to bring in a lot of huge rewards to our users.

Binance Ecosystem is the latest investor in Seascape platform, at the same time Seascape will build games in Binance Smart Chain to keep expanding its path, what are the advantages and benefits of developing new games with the BSC power?
David | Seascape: BSC offers a lot of advantages in terms of flexibility, lower fees, and scalability. We plan to release versions of all of our product on BSC and make sure the assets earned from them can still always be traded back and forth with Ethereum.

Is it possible to play games without CROWN? Or is it mandatory to have CROWN?
David | Seascape: The DeFi games will require Crowns to play in short term since they are all designed to improve the liquidity and value of the token. But other games released by developers who join the network, as well as BLOCKLORDS and other future projects from our team, will not be limited to Crowns only. We do have plans to develop an SDK that will make accepting crypto for gaming extremely easy to implement for all game devs!
