FUD: Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt
We see a lot of it in the world, and especially in crypto....and it is of almost no use, and potentially is quite damaging.
First of all what goes wrong from time to time is almost never what people are afraid of happening, and second most of that it is NOT something you can control or do anything about anyway (take Russia/Ukraine as an example).
But, and a big but, most of the time it's a big nothing burger. I remember when 1999 was becoming 2000 and "they " were sure all computer based systems were going to fail due to coding issues, leading to no electricity, planes falling out of the sky, nuclear war and other ridiculously predictions. And guess what happened? Nothing! What we should have been worried about was the internet bubble popping, and that was in part lead up to by the extra spending on technology pre-2000!
And even when something does blow up in the night, guess what? A few years from now it's a nonevent. The world keeps turning and life continues on. We get so fear based we make ourselves miserable and therefore overreact when some idiot posts something online, or even in the "news". We are addicted to drama, fear and uncertainty. It's what sells, and it's what grabs our attention. We become so short-term focused.
Perhaps at one time it served us as humans, when life was literally deadly at any moment. But now? We have so many advantages yet we pollute our minds with FUD and wonder why we're not happy. My advice? Ignore it all. Just put together a long-term game plan and perhaps tweak it from time to time but disconnect from the firehose of information (most of it not-helpful, even "research") and engage in a face to face relationship with no electronics, take a walk in nature or read a novel. I bet you'll be a lot happier, and those around you will be happier also. I'm also a big fan of meditation as you begin to see how the mind works, but this requires pretty much a daily practice from my experience, a commitment not everyone wants to make. And watch for your mind creating fud and then spreading it out here. Nip this poisonous flower in the bud. Just note: "Oh that's FUD" and let it go.
And the flipside of FUD? Greed. And we will see this again in this space. You know, like the idiots using "math" to prove Luna is going to $80k, passing the hopium pipe around right before it goes to zero. Remember the saying: lies, damn lies and then statistics! You can manipulate data to "prove" just about anything that supports your agenda. I encourage you not only to use common sense but add a dash of healthy skepticism, and really, just cut yourself off from the information drug. Remember knowledge does not equal wisdom in many cases.
So that is my view of FUD, and I hope it helped you in some way. Peace of mind may be the most valuable thing in the whole world, so see for yourself how you can achieve that, and practice what works for you. You are the only one who can answer this for yourself.
