Facebook's caliber is growing - it plans to employ 50 employees in Europe

The Calibra team will soon become significantly stronger.

Facebook Calibra - a branch of the giant from the social media market, which is responsible for designing the Libra portfolio - wants to employ up to 50 employees in Ireland. The Irish Times wrote about the case .

- Despite the crisis, the Calibry team wants to hire 50 new employees.
- Libra has recently undergone some reform that will allow Facebook to issue currency.

Calibra is growing in strength

It turns out that the small Calibra team in Dublin is to be significantly expanded. Facebook notes that his business in Ireland is "extremely important" for the entire company's action plan.

However, Calibra's expansion in Ireland still depends on cooperation with regulators. Facebook employs 5000 people in this country - mainly in various partner companies such as Instagram and WhatsApp. Established in 2019, Calibra is to be in line with them and be responsible for Libra technology - Facebook currency.

In addition to its offices in Dublin, Facebook runs a data center in Clonee, County Meath, and in 2017 founded a research laboratory in Cork for its subsidiary Oculus.

- In times of global uncertainty, we are still investing in our team based in Dublin. We are actively employing experts in fraud, compliance, employee management and customer service to expand our operations team supporting the Calibra portfolio - Laura Morgan Walsh, head of the Calibra department, told reporters.

Libra after crossing

It is worth noting that Facebook has been forced to introduce major changes in the design of its global currency. Libra is now to be more adapted to the vision that politicians and officials want to see. It is possible that this will enable Facebook to issue currency, which has been stopped by regulators around the globe.

"We keep the design of the Libra multi-currency, but it has been fundamentally changed, streamlined and simplified compared to the original [vision], " said Christian Catalini, chief economist of the Calibra project.

" Modernization may allow governments to 'directly integrate' any future CBDC into the network, " the entire team said.

It is worth noting that this year Libra's biggest rival - digital yuan - will probably appear on the market.
