Are We Spiking?

The most resounding question coming out of multiple corners now is whether the current bull run is ending and crypto has yet again spiked. That singular question is on more people's minds than where is the next coin or token going to come from to grab a few more profits. Granted, gambling avenues likes pump.fun and its multiple copies are definitely driving the riskiest of degens, but even they too have to admit it all falls apart when the market goes into recession again.

So, the following question is, naturally, how to play the impending reality. One strategy is to reap harvest now and move to stable coins. If one is in the fortunate position of sizable gain, this is essentially moving that profit out of the coin or token that spiked for so long into US dollar-hinged coins such as DAI or USDT. Even if still wanting to take risk for those last gains, a 50 percent move makes prudent sense at this time.

Alternatively, one could try to hedge, working with assets or other investments that stand to profit when the market drops. What those are, I have no idea personally, but it's a hedge strategy commonly used in down economies.

The third approach is to HODL, of course. Ride the expected dip all the way down and, hopefully, back again. This assumes two things: first, that the market will actually return and come back up. The crypto market has done this now at least three times. There is clearly enough demand to support another cycle, even if we go through yet a following brutal winter from the latest run. This last one depends on time, and it's where youth has the advantaged. I've seen multiple generations rekt by trying to catch the gravy train at the top of a bull run only to see their retirement savings wiped off the map. These folks don't have another 20 years to make it back.

There's no perfect approach for everyone, and just like the last two runs, the high majority of victims arrived late and will pay a painful price. I'm fortunate this time to have a position built up from a lot of previous, painful mistakes. I can see the cliff drop coming. And I'm quite ready to wait for the next gutter trough and make very sizable moves after the wreckage stops.
