There is no kindness in offering false hope to a person who is dying! (weekly crypto updates)

What happened in crypto in the past week? This week Robinhood Chain is the main actor. Bitcoin is a bit stagnant, and ETH is rising slowly. I found a way to expose myself to BTC via BlackRock, using Freetrade. Feel free to check them. What else? Read below:

  • Bitcoin: Half of the Bitcoin supply is now held at loss. Mega IPOs are competing with Bitcoin for speculative capital as investors weight wether mega-IPOs will drain crypto liquidity or revive risk appetite. Mara Holdings announced a deal to acquire a 1200 acre powered site in Texas, designed to support both Bitcoin mining and AI data centre workloads, with MARA shares rising 14%. Saylor's BTC signal is more ambiguous than ever, as he said: Orange dots tell only part of the story. Bitcoin's most contested protocol proposal, BIP-110, a proposal to restrict non-financial data on the BTC blockchain including Ordinals inscriptions, is approaching its August lock-in deadline with zero miner support. Empery Digital sold 1400 BTC since May at roughly $62K, cuttings its holdings by half, funding a 25% ownership stake into an AI data centre.

  • Ethereum: Ethereum Foundation's AI agents found real bugs in protocol code, which were patched and publicly disclosed. It is the first confirmed case of AI agents finding a live vulnerability in ETHs protocol code. Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance ranked ETH second-lowest in energy use, behind only BNB Chain.

  • Altcoins and stablecoins: Zcash is surging as developers are close to a mathematical proof confirming no hidden counterfeiting bug exists in the Ironwood shielded pool, pushing ZEC above $500. BNB Chain is building a new blockchain for AI and high-frequency trading. A prediction market just ditched Solana for RobinHood chain. So, RobinHood Chain daily DEX volume surpassed $560M, with daily active addresses reaching 200K and almost 16K new tokens created in a single day. Robinhood Chain hits top five DEX volume with first week. Are you ready for it? By the way, 10% of RobinHood chain fees are going to Arbitrum as this is built on Arbitrum Orbit stack. Sony Bank got approval to issue a US stablecoin. MoonPay AI agent is now available on Telegram.

  • NFTs and blockchain games: I have also enjoyed playing Golem Overlord lately on Hive, and it is quite engaging, I would say, with no significant updates lately. On Splinterlands, we have had the Land NFT new update and improved tokenomics, and the new cards from the Verico land packs are here. Yield Guild Games sunsets IGG Play. Jupiter brought Pokemon and One Piece cards on-chain on Solana.

  • Good news: Gemini made stock trading free for most US users. Tether invested $20M in Mercado Bitcoin, a Brazilian platform serving 4.5M users. Vanguard seeks Crypto Chief in shift towards digital assets. XRP set to debut on college jerseys through Kansas Jauhawks deal. Hong Kong's SFC ordered all licensed crypto trading platforms to replace one-time password logins with phishing-resistant alternatives within 12 months. Binance recorded $1.61 trillion in futures trading volume in June 2026, its highest monthly total of the year. Bolivia is considering adding USDT to its national payment system.

  • Bad news: The US ruled out digital dollar permanently, citing a Trump executive order and an official working group policy report. Donald is also urging the Senate to pass crypto's biggest bill, with the central dispute being to whether to include language preventing officials from profiting on crypto while in office. LOL! India's central bank is pushing for a full crypto ban. Pakistan just blocked crypto on religious grounds, covering digital tokens and stablecoins, including USDT.

  • Joke of the week: $3B liquidated in early June, $1.2B more on June 26, as longs took 85% of the losses both times. And longs are now back 2-to-1, maybe repeating the same mistake. Isn't it? Second best, Bonk suffered a governance attack, after a group of linked wallets acquired 44.4M in BONK to pass a governance vote to send themselves $20M worth of tokens from the treasury.

All the best,

George

Why not...

...have fun and win rewards on my favourite blockchain games (Splinterlands- a Hearthstone-like card game) (Golem Overlord - a Play2Earn game on Hive) (Holozing - a Pokemon-like game)and ( Chain of Legends - with a hint of Heroes of Might and Magic).

...get crypto while writing on the Publish0x blog. I am also writing for crypto on Hive.
